This is the hardest part of parenting for me, currently. Since my 3.5 year old stopped napping-- it feels like the days can be endless. We generally try to get out for 1 big thing or 2 small things per day. So a big thing would be like-- the zoo, or the science center. A small thing would be like, taking her to the grocery store or going to the park. I feel like breaking the day up by getting out of the house really helps us even if it is just a trip to the grocery store.

We have memberships to the zoo (lots of indoor pavilions) and the science centre, we go to the trampoline place, we sign them up for parks and rec classes (guaranteed hour of running around), and we bundle up and go outside - my husband and 20 month old did some rain-biking today while I took B to Sportball.

I invest in good rain and snow gear... we still spend time outside every day. I stock up on games and crafts. I try to make play dates and sometimes visit playgyms. It’s a long winter!

I have a 18m old and 3 year old and we’re already going crazy with cabin fever. Or I am, anyway. What do you all do in the rainy months to keep your young children occupied?

Thanks!
