We love our toddler Tula! DD is 28 months and it's such a comfy cozy way to carry her front or back.

@SweetiePie: I can still back carry my 3yo in our Ergo, she's not very heavy (not even 30lb!) so it's still pretty comfy!

@SweetiePie: I never did- I borrowed an ergo which was slightly bigger, then once the winter was over I stopped wearing her. Then I got pregnant and knew I wouldn't be wearing her anymore for a long time.

@SweetiePie: You might want to also check out the LILLEbaby CarryOn, which has lower minimum height/weight requirements than most of the other toddler carriers, but with a lot of the same perks, like a wider, more supportive belt. I love the lumbar support of the LILLEs as well, though that won't be of much use to you if you're exclusively back-carrying. I unfortunately don't have a Tula to compare it to, but it's definitely more comfortable for me than my Ergo and a Beco Gemini I've tried.

To fit in most toddler sizes they need to be in 2T pants at the very least and most people seem to still be comfortable in baby/standard sizes!

I'd def check out Tula, Lenny Lamb and Kinderpack.

@Foodnerd81: Did you ever end up getting a toddler carrier?
My (in a few days) 16 month old is 25-26lbs and over 32 inches tall. I'd like to start carrying him on my back since I live in the city and use public transport, and I also fly solo with him fairly often (every other month). I wondered if you tested out or settled on anything?

I'm borrowing a toddler tula and it's definitely too big for my 23lb about 32 inch kiddo. I put him in the ergo tonight and it's a good 5 inches or so lower on his back.

Definitely try the ergo. LO was over 2 years old and we carried her around. The back carry is really comfortable!

@mrsjazz: I don't know that I would be carrying her that long (also don't know that I wont!) but even comfort aside, I don't like the front carry because I can't see my feet. Too much snow here to not see where I'm walking.

@Foodnerd81: I went from a Beco Gemini to a Tula Toddler. Definitely comfortable. LO is almost 3 and 31 lbs. The back carry is great. I did a front carry today since we were on the subway and she needed a nap and that hurt my back a little but my back doesn't hurt when I back carry.

@Foodnerd81: I carried C for about 5-6 hours around London right before we moved last Spring in it. Walked probably 10 miles that day. She was probably ~30lbs at the time. It was fine.

@MrsB2012: I was wondering about that. But I don't really want to buy another baby carrier that will only last a few more months.

@loveisstrange: I may try to borrow an ergo and see if it feels better. I definitely CAN still wear her, but I walk a lot and frequently need to wear it half a mile or more each way. In the snow. She definitely isn't up for long walks yet.

I think she might be small for the toddler tula still. Apparently they are really large. I've read lots of posts that say not to switch to a toddler until they are in 2t pants. We use the standard size at 18 months, about 23 pounds and she fits great in it still.

C is almost 3, 40" tall and 33lbs and I can still comfortably wear her in our Ergo. I don't very often, because Im lazy and she likes to walk more now... but I can.

Thinking of upgrading my beco gemini to something better for toddler carrying. C is almost 19 months, about 25 lbs, and average to short height for her age. I can still wear her fairly comfortably for short distances in the beco, but the carrier doesn't come up as high on her back as I would prefer. Sometimes she will let Dh snap the extra bit up, but sometimes she freaks out about feeling too confined (I think) and I can't get her into it by myself with them up.

I live in the city and we have several feet of snow outside, making my wonderful stroller pretty much useless for at least another month or so. So Im not sure how much longer I will really use the carrier, but as of now it's our only way to get around so I may just buy it.

That said, I know about the toddler Tula- are there other carriers that work for a 1.5-2.5 year old? I'm not set on the cutest one or anything, just want more comfortable.

Also I'd love to hear from people who switched from a beco to a Tula and if t really is that much more comfortable.
