They specifically said in the email "However, with this young of an age group, a parent for every child is expected to help during each session." I'm not sure what "help" entails but I guess I'll just wing it. What are they gunna do, kick us out? Lol.

But good tips on bringing a blanket and toys and stroller, for options. I'm hoping I'm making a bigger deal out of this than it'll end up.

Now swimming lessons are going to be more of a challenge...

Could you hire a neighbourhood kid to come and play with the one year old on the sidelines?

@smocks: we are in a similar boat! DD is 4 and DS is 13 months. We signed up for ayso soccer but it is now sounding more hands on for parents for this age than I initially expected. Some times DH will be able to take DD but not all the time since his schedule is also unreliable. I am just going to bring him along and figure it out. I also can't imagine being the only one in this situation so I am hoping it will not be s huge deal.

Is there parental involvement? When my son was in soccer, the expectation was that the parents were on the field. It wasn't soccer games, though, it was more like drills.

The coach should be handling soccer practice with your only necessary involvement being to encourage your LO to listen to what her coach tells her to do. My kids are similar ages (3.5 yo DD and 9 month old DS) and I just pop little brother in the stroller. He likes to watch the big kids run around and is usually pretty content in there. If not, there are a ton of other younger siblings and someone always has a blanket so I plop him there with some toys and baby friends and they entertain each other.

DD is 3.5yo, DS is 1. I’m trying to get DD involved in sports here soon, but am having a hard time wrapping my brain around logistics.
DH works variable schedules, and I can’t rely on him as a backup to watch DS since he will either be sleeping or working (he’s working nights most of this year). I have DD scheduled for soccer 4 Saturdays this fall, but how do I do that and care for DS at the same time? I’m pretty sure they want parents involved in the soccer practices. Has anyone dealt with something similar? I doubt I can just strap him to my chest and kick the ball around, I know he’s going to want to get down. :meh:
