We have the OXO tot sprout and my son has been climbing in and out of it for about a year. He's never tipped it over and, to echo @anagram, I don't view it as that sturdy.

We predominately use the learning tower and he eats at our bar now. If it's a family dinner he just sits in a normal chair.

I don't have any high chair tips, but we have a Boon Flair, and my older LO has been climbing in and out of it for the past 1.5 years, and I just let her. She's never tipped it, and it's not all that sturdy. She likes being able to get in and out herself.

We have a Graco high chair (I think it's the SimpleSwitch model). It's really sturdy and DS climbed in and out for a long time, till he was old enough for a regular chair.

LO1 went through a phase of always wanting to climb on her high chair. It was just a phase, but we had several months where the high chair went night-night between meals and we laid it on its side.

@Foodnerd81: I'd kind of like him to be able to climb it (supervised) to encourage independence. He can climb on our regular kitchen chair already so I was imagining something taller with arms so he is more contained. He's super independent and he loves to climb the step ladder when I say it's time to wash hands.

We have a hook on chair on our kitchen counter. It's far from perfect, but one plus is she could never climb on it. Do you want it to be easier or harder to climb? I would think he wouldn't be able to climb into the IKEA seat since there are no horizontal bars on the legs, and that's only $20.

I think I may need to switch up LO's high chair. He is 16 months and today he showed me how quickly he can climb in and out of his Oxo Seedling high chair. I really don't want to keep a hazard like that sitting around in my kitchen.

I tried a booster style that we had laying around but he was extra messy tonight for some reason. He does ok at restaurants pushed up to a table so I'm not sure why he went wild.

I'd like a high chair that LO cooks safely climb in and out of. A Google search lead me to the trip trapp but it's way too expensive for me. Any suggestions?
