Two weeks seems like a long time, if it doesn't seem to be improving. I would take her to the pediatrician. It could be something else.

My son has has a cold for almost three weeks now. I brought him to the doctor last week and she said at this point it is too long to be a cold and is most likely allergies. She prescribed singulair and gave us a recommendation for an allergist.

Yes. The cough lingers forever. The actual cold is only a week though.

@Grace: this has been our experience too. It's the cough that lasts the longest.

The main cold seems to last for around a week (like the major sneezing, runny nose etc). The dang cough that goes with it often lasts 3 weeks and often wakes her up.

@My Only Sunshine: At 2 weeks and still going, I'd definetly take her in. Just to be sure there's nothing going on with her ears and that she's sinus infection free. hope she feels better soon!

Aww poor baby. My DS just got over a cold. Usually about a week to 10 days but our pedi said sometimes they start recovering about a week in and pick up another virus that just prolongs it. Baby Vicks, nose Frida, boogie wipes, juice, humidifier.

Oh bees, my sweet DD has a major cold. You would think just a regular cold wouldn't ruin our lives but oh my, it's so tough at our house. She's been waking up nightly for like 2 weeks and cannot settle back down. We end up bringing her to our bed sometimes just to get some sleep, which may be making the sleep problem worse.

If your kiddo had a nasty cold, how long did it last? We're on 2 weeks since the first day of sniffles. She doesn't have a fever and basically seems like herself during the day so I'm not that worried about an infection yet but maybe I should be? Any tips on helping her feel better?
