Whenever we were at home I used training underwear. She only had a few accidents. I have friends who went bottomless at home and their LOs would equate undies as diapers too. Took longer to be PT'd outside. K picked up on the accidents right away, so she hardly had them. I had a harder time just getting her to go on the actual potty bc she would hold it, refuse to go in the potty or in the diaper. A few promises of special treats ultimately was the turning point! But once we moved her into Pull-Ups, she didn't want to go back to diapers. She was potty trained at about 24/25 months. We didn't do the 3-day thing, because it just wasn't her personality. We just took it slow. Day one was terrible, day 2 was awesome, you just have to stick with it. We went through almost a whole can of resolve the first day. We also didnt' do pullups which I think made the biggest differce. We did diapers at nap and nighttime for less than a week. K basically would pick at her diapers and not want to wear them. We PT'd starting around 25 months. I still wanted her to wear pull-ups for naps and overnight, but she quickly refused those too. I think once she got used to undies and how much more comfy they are, she never wanted to go back. We waited til past 2.5 and the hardest part at that stage was that she was freaked out by the potty. My DD went through this and was really interested around 23 months. I had DD2 when she was 23.5 months, so I just didn't have it in me to potty train then. I am now FIGHTING her over potty training at 33 months. (We tried the three day method right at 2.5 and it was a giant fail.) I was heavily pregnant when she started doing it and not in the mood for potty training but she was doing it all day/night so I didn't have a choice. I haven't been able to commit to it fully because of the new baby but I let her go diaperless at home now and she just takes herself off to the potty. Naps and bedtime, we have had to change to pull-ups and we told her it was special night time underwear. She still takes them off and kicks them across the room the second she wakes up but will tolerate them, unlike a diaper. Sounds like she is ready! We've had to start putting her in onesies for naps and nighttime because otherwise she will take her diaper off in her crib. We also have to watch her like a hawk while she's awake because she'll quickly pull her pants down and take her diaper off. </p> <p>She's been saying things like "take it off!," "I don't like diapers!," and she'll cry when we put one on her. Is this a sign that she's ready for potty training? Or is she just being a stubborn 2-year-old?</p> <p>We have a Minnie Mouse potty seat (the kind that goes on the regular toilet) and she likes it and enjoys sitting on it, but has only gone pee a couple of times on it (which I think were just flukes). </p> <p>She'll be 25 months on Thursday. I wasn't really planning to even think about potty training until 2.5, but I don't want to miss an opportunity. I read some stuff last night that said 22-28 months is a "golden period" to potty train but not sure how true that is. </p> <p>Did anyone else's toddler go through a diaper-hating stage? </p>
