@pelikila: We haven't even gotten to the points of rewards/ not rewards yet. But that's something important to consider!

I think it depends on how you are approaching potty training/learning. We didn't do rewards so verbal praise was about all C got during potty training. If you aren't doing rewards then I'd thank him for trying and remind him to let you know the next time he needs to potty. Don't make a big deal of it and see where that takes you. If you are doing rewards, then I would guess not to give a reward but really I'm not sure when using that approach.

We are doing some light potty training with our 22 month old. He has a little elmo potty that attaches to the potty. We always sit him on it before bathtime and he usually pees. Other times during the day if I'm changing him we will sit him there and oftentimes he will pee. THe past few days he has been telling us "pee pee" and then we run to the potty and sit on it. Yesterday he actually peed when he told us he had to go. Today, twice he has faked us! He sits on it and then strains and says "all done" and starts wiping himself and cheering. I'm not discouraging this but also am not sure what to say when he does it?
