@lioneyes: Bubby's is a good one! Forgot about that. I've only been for brunch, is dinner good?

Bubby's in Tribeca is super kid-friendly (including stroller parking out front). If it's a weekend, El Vez in Battery Park is a big space and won't have the post-work crowd. Landmarc in Time Warner Center was also very kid-friendly, I recall (stroller parking there too).

@MoonMoon: just thought of two more.
Burger & Barrel in soho is good. It sounds more casual than it is.
Riverpark. It's a touch out of the way (super Far East 20's) but it's excellent food (Tom Colocchio) and they were very accommodating with my son. Craft is also Tom Colicchio and I have a feeling they have highchairs.

Sarabeth's is a given. I've also heard great things about Harding's but I've never actually been there (lots of my mom friends have though). And I heard they have a private room, depending how large your group is.

If you like Italian, Tony's is always a good standby. Solid food, consistently good. Family style, so great for groups. Very kid friendly (we just went with our 17 month old last weekend around 5pm and they were entertaining him, constantly asking how they could help, etc)

If you want something more casual, we just went to Five Napkin Burger (upscale burgers, so casual but not too casual). Actually without our LO but we couldn't believe how many others we saw! For lunch on a Thursday we counted about 10.

I honestly just call restaurants and ask if they have highchairs. If they do, I figure they are prepared for a baby/toddler. Of course, I use my judgement as well. Usually early dinners are safe anywhere with a toddler because no one else is there eating at 5/5:30pm :-)

I know I have been to others but blanking. I'll let you know if I think of anything else noteworthy.

We'll be meeting up with friends and would like to grab dinner somewhere that's got room for a large-ish group, and is ok for toddlers. Pretty flexible on neighborhoods, Brooklyn or Manhattan would be ok. Vegetarian-friendly a plus. Any recommendations?
