We got them for both our girls, but they are so quiet, even on the loudest setting, that the kids couldn't hear anything over the plane's noise! Not worth it.

I got some for my toddler. I'm really bothered by people who have sound playing on their personal tablets/ phones/ laptops, even when super quiet, on planes, so I don't want to do that to others. I've also seen flight attendants require people to use headphones or play no audio at all.

We have it only b/c we take really long flights (half way around the world kind) and my oldest will complain he can't hear the iPad if he doesn't have one. And then my youngest will want one when he sees that his big brother has one so now we have two. Your flights seems short enough not to need it, but if you're planning to go on longer flights later then, personally, I would get one now. Wouldn't hurt. :)

Well, I'm one who lets their kid watch cartoons on the plane with the sound down low. Like, so low that sitting next to her, I almost couldn't hear it. I think that's fine, personally. I wouldn't buy a pair of toddler headphones. If someone asked me to kill the sound, I'd probably just turn it down lower. I feel ok about making less noise than I would just having a conversation.

If they want sound at all they need headphones. I just did a plane ride with someone who let their kid watch shows without headphones. I was annoyed so much.

agree with PPs that if you go without headphones, the sounds should be off or near off. I have also flown with nearby children (older than toddlers though) and their super loud electronic games.

We don't own a pair and don't intent to. I would think they would have to be turned up pretty loud to cancel out the plane's noise (unless you buy some fancy Bose ones or something!). LO has no issue watching movies on planes without any sound at all.

The toddler headphones weren't loud enough for her to really hear on the plane. I have seen some that are smaller but also loud like regular headphones. Either way I don't think she would have really used them.

Honestly, I would get the headphones unless she's ok with it on silent. Speaking from experience, I'm sensitive to noise and I've been on flights where parents clearly thought their kids' electronics were very low but I could still hear it and it drove me nuts :-/

I voted no because Row passed out both flights and even if he hadn't I know he would never would have worn them.

We're flying to Mexico in a couple weeks, and I'm wondering whether we need to invest in some toddler headphones. I've seen a few posts on HB about which to get, but I'm wondering if they're even necessary. She won't use them unless we're traveling by plane, so I don't want to spend the money if I don't have to. Sadie will use my tablet to play games & watch movies, but she's usually okay with the sound down pretty low. But, I also don't want to annoy anyone on the plane. One flight is 1.5 hrs, the other 2.5. Opinions?
