@Becky: thanks!
@MrsADS: Yeah so true. My old ob sent me to L&D for a few things that turned out to be nothing. I guess they want to cover their bases

My toddler did as well several times and baby's fine, but just be prepared your OB may tell you to go to L&D for monitoring. I swear every single question I asked about EVERYTHING (like if I would call or something), particularly later on in the pregnancy, the answer would always be "well, you should go to L&D to be safe." I didn't, but... I think they were afraid to tell me "it's probably fine."

My son head butted me in the stomach when I was around 30 weeks. I was standing behind him trying to get him to brush his teeth and he slammed his head back as hard as he could. He was 4.5 at the time and a big boy so it had some force. I just monitored movement for a bit and the baby was fine.

I was pushing my daughter on the swings and she reached out and kicked me so hard in the belly. I doubled over. I was like 36 weeks or something. For the next few hours I just monitored kicks pretty closely but otherwise was fine. Her baby bro likely has a dent somewhere on him from the impact but otherwise he’s a healthy 7 mo. Lol

@Mrsbells: I think they are! I don't mean to be dismissive, I am well versed in worry and anxiety during pregnancy, this is just one that hadn't occurred to me yet! Hopefully you get a comforting response from your OB's office :)

@Silva: thanks yes my OBs office has a patient portal and I sent her a message through it and I am waiting for a response.
Ok that's useful to know. Everyone says they are all well protected in the womb

My toddler has legitimately body slammed my belly before. I wouldn't worry too much if baby is moving fine, but you can definitely ask your doctor about it.

ETA: this has happened to me A LOT and its never really occurred to me to ask for extra monitoring.

So my 22 month old jumped and threw his weight on my bump this weekend while I was sitting on the sofa. His little hands pressed into my belly quite firmly and I am 30 weeks. Since then the baby has been kicking as normal and I am sure evrything is fine. I will be seeing my OB this week too. I looked online and saw other people post similar things with their toddlers kicking or elbowing their bump accidentally. Had this happened to any of you. Did you go in and request an ultrasound? I'm such a overthinker sometimes and keep wondering if my toddler could have hurt the fetus somehow.
