Not a fun situation, and like others said, they can't do anything about it if something did happen. But, the baby is well protected. I was in a bad car accident when I was 19 weeks and I was bruised from the seatbelt but the baby was perfectly fine.

I would imagine you would feel much more hurt than the baby.

I fell flat on my stomach on a photoshoot at 24 weeks and baby was fine. It was quite a scare and they monitored me. Like others have said, baby is well protected in there. It's great you have felt movement, I think all they could do at the Drs is check the heartbeat.

@catomd00: that is a good point that they couldn't do anything anyway. Looking foward to regular movement so I don't have to worry about this stuff!

Ugh I'm sorry! My toddler can be a bit brutal too! I think you're probably okay at this point if you're feeling well. Unfortunately, there's not much that can be done at 17w besides give you peace of mind. If you can't stop worrying I would call the doc to ease your mind. Babes are super well protected, especially in the early days!

Yeah unless you feel off, I would try not to worry about it. Toddlers can be a-holes. Mine has done similar things- mostly I've been able to keep her from really flopping directly on the bump but as a result I've gotten some hard knocks to my crotch or boobs.

That said, if you do feel off or just really worried, call your doctor. No sense in worrying when you have a medical professional there for you, you know?

It is nice once you feel them more and get that reassurance though.

My poor belly has taken a lot of abuse from DD over these past nine months. She is anything but gentle :silly:

I wouldn't do anything. Babies are very well protected. I don't think a rambunctious toddler can do much harm :)

This morning my 30lb toddler was sitting on my lap, and then decided to stand up and flop back down hard, landing right on my bump just above the pubic bone. It hurt a lot but hasn't hurt since - but I can't help but be a bit worried about the baby!

I'm 17 weeks, and have only felt movement sporadically so far, so that's not a great indicator - but I haven't felt any movement since despite laying down with a coke for the last half hour (was hoping the excessive sugar would help!).

What would you do?
