@ChiCalGoBee: we used the actual Sposie brand with a huggies overnight. We actually folded the pad in half and put over his penis and that way it collected more urine than spreading it out (because those pads are long!!)

Another weird tip: kids pee more when they're cool. So maybe a sleepsack or warmer jammies?

@Portboston: thanks for another vote for sposie inserts! I'll also start pushing the milk back. Sorry you've dealt with it, too! Fingers crossed all this works!

@meadow: @youboots: @Winterbee15: I actually tried these months ago when trying to avoid the double diaper and I think I didn't place it right because it slid down and was a mess. Do you have a brand you like? Thanks for the suggestion!
@MrsSRS: Thajs for the picture-I'm a visual person so it's helped! I'll pick these up! We always keep things pointing down, but a good reminder because of gravity  .
@Mrs. Goose: Yeah, he's a milk lover and has some milk an hour before bed but I've started to push that up. Thanks for the tip!
@MamaG: I've tried Huggies, Pampers and Honest overnights with no such luck-I am running out of brands! So glad your girl is finally staying dry!
@Pollywog: Not opposed to cloth and I actually tried a cloth cover when I had this as an issue in the past, but I didn't try hemp inserts. I'll look!

Thanks everyone!

We had this problem with my 19 month old. He's been in size 6's at night for a few months and started leaking again.
Sposie inserts, pointing penis down & pushing his last bottle a little further back has solved the issue (for now!) he's a tummy sleeper also (always has been) so I feel your pain!

Are you opposed to cloth? My kiddo is a super heavy wetter, but if I put him in a GMD work horse with 1 or 2 thirties hemp inserts and a Thirties cover I have no leaks. From what I've read, a disposable can hold up to 2 cups of pee, my fitted holds 3 cups and each insert holds 1/2 - 3/4 a cup

If you prefer disposable, I'd put a flip diaper insert inside your duapef

We recently had this same problem with our girl. We went from regular diapers to buggies overnights and no more leaks. She wears size 6 day and night. She is also a tummy sleeper and the back is dry.

My friend had this issue with her son and it only got better when they cut the right before bed bottle. For a while they tried dog pee pads under the sheet.

The Target brand of overnight pullups. We had the exact same problem and these were a game changer. You want the "nighttime underwear, " not the "training pants."

No personal experience....but I've heard of sposies liners.

Maybe you could do it more in the front to catch the urine that goes that way?

My 27-month-old is a very heavy wetter at night. He's also a pretty big kid-90% for height, 78% for weight, so we're in size 6s during the day and running out of diaper sizes! When he was younger putting him in a nighttime diaper one size up was perfect, but there are no size 7 overnight diapers. No matter what I do, he wakes up wet  . I've tried double diapering, putting a pull-up over a nighttime diaper, putting a size 7 diaper over his size 6 nighttime diaper, etc. He's a tummy sleeper and, although his diaper is pretty full in the morning, the bigger issue (I think) is the position he sleeps in. I know I can cut out liquids (but I don't want to-I want him to drink when he wants to drink), but again, I think the bigger issue is his sleep position than too much liquid. Does anyone have any experience with this? If so, what worked? I feel awful that my little guy is wet, and I also would love to not have to do laundry every day! Thanks.
