Well he ended up napping 12-1:45 but it still wasn't enough. He's a complete disaster this afternoon! So will need a 7 pm bedtime again.

We went to the park from 930-1030 and he was *this close* to falling asleep on the way home. Took lots of torture to keep him awake! Hope this means he will take an awesome early nap!

@winniebee: B won't nap either if he falls asleep in the car and we wake him. Huge FAIL by husband this weekend. B falls asleep after swim class. I tell DH, let's just put him down for nap and feed him lunch when he wakes. DH says "no, let's wake him up." Worst.Mistake.Ever. We tried to put B down for a nap after lunch and no dice. We gave him another hour and finally put him down for a nap for 30 minutes. This kid normally naps 2 hours no issues. DH got the stink eye the rest of the day.

What about a super short car nap in the morning, like 5-10-15 minutes, after being awake for 3 hrs or so? Then trying for the normalish nap time at 1 (or at least 3 hrs after waking from the quick sleep).

My kids are 15 months and on one nap, but a quickie morning car sleep will often help them reset if they wake early or just wake up on the wrong side of the bed. But if it goes too long they sometimes won't sleep at naptime, so super short is the key for mine.

Good luck!

Ugh daylight savings totally screwed us up too. Be wary of putting him down for a second nap. On monday I put him down for what I usually call a bonus nap that is around 20-30 minutes max and he apparently thought he was done for the night and was so difficult to rouse after an hour and a half. All week he will not sleep if I put him down according to the clock and not what his internal clock says. I think alter everything in 15 min increments every day for the rest of the week. And keep trying to wear him out because if he can just take an extra long nap you might get back on schedule. Hope you guys don't suffer too much longer!

@winniebee: we've been trying to wear J out so that he's ready for a nap, though he has been dropping naps 4 out of 7 days of the week (wake up at 7:30, bed at 8:30, no nap during the day).

Yesterday was a good day, he woke up closer to 8am (though he went to bed at 10pm the night before..), played until almost 1:30/2pm, napped until 3:30 and went back to bed at 8:30 for the night (woke up at 7:30 this morning).
Husband was home yesterday, so he took J to the indoor playground to wear him out for that nap though!

@winniebee: B goes down for a nap right after lunch. Can you try that? So, we give B lunch at 11:30 and then put him down to sleep on a full belly. Oh, and wear the heck out of T this morning. Lots of running and park play if possible.

@buffalove: he just won't take 2 naps. He got up at 5 the other day and napped from 10-10:45 and that was it for the day. I tried at 230 and he just wouldn't. So I have to time the one nap perfectly today!

I'd give him an early lunch, put him down at 11:30ish, and also consider a second cat nap in the evening if he's a crank. Hopefully then he can stay up for an 8pm bedtime.

This is what I did on Saturday - second nap was from 5:15-6pm and he was able to stay up til 9pm, and slept til 7am the next morning (8am "old time").

T's usual schedule is: bed 8-7 (no wake ups) nd nap from 1-230/3. Since the time change he has been getting up at 6....and napping only 30-45 minutes ALL day. So then I have to put him down at 7, which results in him getting up at 6 again (he's not making up for the short naps in his overnight sleep). Thinking I should put him down for his nap super early today at like 11:30. Thoughts? He's 17.5 months and has been on one nap for 3 months.
