Yes, my 16 month old sleeps on a cot with her shoes on. Sleep sacks were allowed in the infant room but not in the toddler room so I send a light AA blanket.

Thanks everyone, I had no idea sleeping with the shoes on was common!

My son wears the Halo early walker sacks, they have the feet and leg holes, so tehcnically, he could have it put on and his little feet and shoes would stick out, so if they had to leave, he could still walk with it on no problem, which he also does at home...it's like his robe!

Yes, they sleep with their shoes on if they wear them.

I would ask if there could be an exception though if needed at least until he gets better at transition to a nap.

I work at a daycare and we make our kids sleep with their shoes on. The main reason is that if there were an emergency and they had to evacuate, we keep shoes on so we can get them out quickly and safely. This is more for our toddlers and up. Some teachers make exceptions though, especially if the child can take off and put their shoes on by themselves or if it is the only way they will sleep.

She naps with her shoes on (if she keeps them on....) Once she gets to the toddler room, she will sleep on a cot, no sheet or blanket. I think I would just ask them to put his sleep sack on him and leave the shoes on and see what happens.

ETA: Could you get a bigger sleep sack so he is more comfortable with his shoes on?

LO sleeps with his shoes on at daycare. He is still in the crib though. He has being going to daycare since 4 months, so it's no big deal for him to sleep there. We went through a rough patch with napping, but now that he's with the older infants, he naps much better. I think it helps that they all nap at the same time, so there is nothing "fun" going on that he thinks he's missing.

My son is 28 months and attends morning sessions of day care. We're transitioning to sending him there a little longer, which would include the afternoon nap.

The kids currently sleep on cots, and they've requested that we send a sheet and blanket, which we have. My son also loves his sleepsack, it's a cue for him to lay down and rest, so I sent that. But the issues is this, they don't put it on him, because they kids all sleep in their shoes. I just can't see him being comfortable enough to sleep with his shoes on!

I will be honest, this kind of surprised me, and I am having second thoughts about having him nap there. My other option is to continue to send him there just for the mornings and have him nap at home. He's not the best sleeper in the world and I can tell he's tired this week because he's not adjusted and sleeping long enough.

What is it like at your daycare? Do the kids sleep with their shoes on?
