Charlie also kept wanting to empty his potty! I didn't have the stomach for it, so got him to start using the toilet... if he had poured his business out onto the bathroom floor, I might've cried!!

@Mrs. High Heels: haha! Yah!LO insists on pouring out her potty sometimes and I hold my breath to see if she is gonna angle it the right way. @Mrs. Jacks: I do too. I realized I have known you online for quite some time...I would love to get you guys out for a day of fun! Tell Lala I know a place just like she is imagining. Here is some eye candy for one of those more popular spots. http://www.portaloha.com/SecretsOfHawaii/Laniakea.htm
The place we pet the turtle today was not a very natural habitat for turtles and didnt have deep water or fish nearby. It was quite sad but I will leave that up to you if you want to share that part with Lala's tender heart.

She insists on cleaning out her stand alone toilet. Today she took a massive dump in it, and waddled her way over to the regular toilet to dump it out. Then she insisted on cleaning that standalone toilet out too in our sink! Gah, yuck. Luckily I quickly wiped as much of the poo residue as much as I could while she was busy flushing the poo down the toilet. She totally won. I love when she exerts her independence, but with poo... not so much.

@808love: I'm telling Lala right now! She asks if it was living with colorful fishes and if you had to dive deep into he water to see it?

What fun! I really hope it works out to see you this coming year! I think our girls would get along marvelously!

@lamariniere: oh so cute when they have their preferences...and sometimes not... :)
@Mrs. Jacks: you have a little scientist. Btw, we got to pet a turtle at a marine park today...thought of you. I wished the turtle was in its real habitat.

Not sure if this counts but every day for the last two weeks DS has said "we should buy a bike with pedals for my birthday". He has a balance bike and his birthday isn't until December. But we have duly noted the request. :-)

Which battle didn't she win lately? ;)

Actually, not totally true... At breakfast I took away her waffle because "mama I just want to do an experiment with it. We put in water to make the batter, so if I put water on the waffle maybe it will turn back into batter."

I think about trying to be a "yes" mom. Yesterday she wanted to "wash" dishes. She was getting her outfit and the counter wet but she was happy and content. I let her play and she was happy.

@looch: Thanks for reminding me of the ways how I am usually open to toddler negotiations when it is the small things. Long ago, the first time LO ever negotiated, it was over the amount of Teddy Grahams I gave her. I gave her more than I originally intended because of her sweetness. Last night must have triggered that little memory because later I was feeling bad because she only ate TG and rice.

Haha, I am a path of least resistance parent...so if the choice isn't harmful or going to cause me extra annoyance, I let my son win.

He doesn't like the shirt I picked out, he can wear another, even if doesn't match his pants, no big deal. If he doesn't want to eat his dinner, fine, but I am not a short order cook and won't sit there begging him to eat.

My 2 year old convinced me to let her eat Teddy Grahams and rice for dinner tonight. Later I wondered, what happened there...I gave in! I did give her a turkey sandwich and a bunch of strawberries a few hours before though. Yikes, I need to be a little stronger...that usually doesn't happen.
