They are 16 months now and have had them since a year. They are a little smaller than a placemat, and relatively flat, 2-3 inches high with loose batting. Flannel on one side and regular cotton on the other. They are still in cribs. They typically fall asleep on them and then they shuffle around the rest of the night. I got it at pottery barn (it's called toddler size) but they sell that size elsewhere. It's kind of like a 3/4 size. I had a heck of a time finding a toddler pillow in latex foam so I just gave him a standard size pillow and it has been fine. He really likes having a pillow.
