@bhbee: Hahaha, oh gosh - my oldest has a similar stubborn streak. She "decided" during her first week of preschool when she was 3 that she didn't like the paper towels (or something equally silly) in the bathroom at school and said she'd never go to the bathroom there. Sure enough, for basically her whole time there, she flat out refused to go on principle. I'd like say that's gotten better with time...but it's just morphed into other varieties of stubbornness. :)

@caitcat: I’m hoping time will solve it but she is so stubborn she just refuses to go at school. Even today when she stayed after lunch for the first time!

@meadow: We’ve been trying that but no dice. It just occurred to me that my son learned in boxer briefs and maybe those would bunch less with the longer leg? She reallllly loves pink so now I’m off to look for pink boxer briefs :silly:

My four year old was still struggling to sort this out over the summer - it drove me nuts. It's only been in the last month or so that she has finally worked it out. I think being in preschool some mornings and having to manage herself a little more independently finally got her to slow down and figure to pull up her pants without getting too bunchy.

Oh my Lord, please give me strength when it comes to this. My 3.5 year old will not push down or pull up his pants to use the potty and it is driving me nuts. It's like he forgets how his arms function.

I don’t know why but I can’t teach my third to successfully pull up her undies/shorts/pants after potty. I think part of it is being the baby and we do too much for her in general!!

Are there any magical tips or tricks? She tends to get them rolled or bunched and then just starts crying. I can’t even remember this issue with my other two!
