@lemong: PSA: Baby bogs in a couple patterns on super sale at REI! Just bought a pair for $24 - wasn't the gender neutral pattern I was aiming for but LO will look cute and it's cheaper so who cares! Also diapers.com had a couple on sale for not quite as cheap too.

If you go the traditional boot route, we buy $20 ones from Target, and they are super lightweight snow boots. Would be fine for rain.

They make Stonz rainboots too. Not sure if the price (we got them as a gift) but they are a lot more light weight than traditional ones and were awesome last spring for my toddler

@cam: yeah i only see the booties too. If it weren't for this one store I wouldn't have known about the others. Sadly...$60 for a pair of boots that will fit for one winter...

@cam: I haven't tried them personally, but I think there are a couple of kinds of stonz boots/booties. I've seen the bootie ones online and I'm guessing those are the ones that would wear out on pavement?

The ones that look more like winter boots are actually really light and flexible. The local baby boutique recommends them, but of course they are $$$. But, they really are so light, much lighter and more flexible than the sorels we had last year.

@lemong: I feel like most rain or winter boots are going to be tough for a new walker. I just use her snow boots in the rain, she's been walking for over a year and still trips more in them.

I was told in store that stonz are only good for the snow and if they're walking on pavement they will wear out (unless there's another kind I don't know about). We bought Kamik winter boots for my 1 year old because they were lighter and more flexible than a lot of other choices, they have rain boots too but I haven't tried them personally

@mrssrs - thanks! I just checked them out - very cute!

Does anybody know if they are good at keeping their feet dry? I'm not so worried about the cold...

I'm looking to buy rain boots for LO2, who turns 1 in a couple of weeks. He's been walking for about a month and they're predicting an El Niño year, so hopefully it's really wet! That being said, he still trips over his robeez when he walks. Any suggestions on what brands might be good? Most of them seem to have a stiff sole. Croc rain boots start at size 6, and he's probably a size 5 (and that's with room to grow). Any other suggestions?
