@brownie: Yes! I totally believe in "threshold amounts" for certain foods. We have that with Splash and when we needed to increase is amount we had to sloooooooowly build up until he could tolerate more.

BTW, yay for being able to tolerate (some) dairy now. I'm hoping we will get approved for an OFC after our next allergy appointment :)

@lizzywiz: I recommend towels. I know there isn't supposed to be anything between them and the seat but it is so worth it. Then I put one on top of him. Towels are my best friend.

We stopped feeding reflux no-nos at dinner and saw an improvement, at least for night time. So, now she has lower fat, some-what bland, no fruit, no dairy dinners.

The problem with reflux diets, IMO, is that they are too limiting and too low in fat for babies, but we manage to do it for one meal and it helped.
Good luck.
(on a side note, I hate cleaning puddles of toddler vomit out of her car seat. yuck. I can't wait for reflux to end.)

@anbanan15: I can't think of anything but, that doesn't mean something didn't sneak in. Also I personally believe he tolerates dairy but only to a very small amount so it may have been an overload.

Yeah he had two more coughing fits last night but didn't vomit again. No breakfast this morning so we can make it to soccer (2 hour car ride).

We have a teething necklace and I love it!!!

Any diet change or new foods that might be aggravating it? I know as an adult my reflux is pretty well under control unless I eat something that aggravates it (too much fried foods for example).

We have a toddler with reflux too, but never had a period where it went away. Besides from being on a really high dose of Prevacid, we basically do the same and keep him vertical while he is refluxing. He also silent refluxes in his sleep and it's the worst hearing him choke like that. I know it's a long shot but I'm actually going to start using the Baltic amber teething jewelry again to see if it helps any. There are claims that it does help reflux and we always noticed a difference before, but we stopped wearing it as he has a full set of teeth now.

@erinpye: we haven't. We breastfed until he was 2 with no latch issues. He was not refluxing for most of the last 2 years and appears to have started again.

My DD's reflux was actually caused by a posterior tongue tie and upper lip tie. If I hadn't fought to get it diagnosed by going to a specialist after our pediatrician ruled it out and simply upped her Zantac dose, we would probably still be dealing with reflux at 16 mos. Has your LO been checked for ties?

My 2 year old was diagnosed with reflux at 7 days old but we later found it was a symptom of his MSPI. He has been tolerant of dairy since he was 18 months old but is still intolerant to soy.

He seems to be silent refluxing again. Tonight he already coughed himself into vomitting. I am currently holding him as he sleeps so he is vertical. I can't stand to hear the coughing.

Any ideas of what else to do for a toddler????
