my friend has a son who had pretty bad reflux as a baby, and then it went away for a while. when he was about 4 years old, he started getting lots of stomachaches and was burping a lot--turned out his reflux was back. they saw a GI and she said that reflux can flare up during growth spurts, because the children's GI systems are changing. so he got back on meds, but was able to wean off in several months and his reflux hasn't been that much of an issue. i agree that heading to a specialist is worth it.

DS is 3.5 and has extreme reflux. He was tested for EE, but they ruled it out after his endoscopy and he's been on medication since. We're having to do food therapy since he has such food issues because of it. Like @LuLu Mom I think he's just used to it, which is really upsetting. I'd keep an eye on it for a few weeks since the aftermath of a stomach bug can definitely be a contributing factor, but if it continues, or she starts having food issues, I'd head to a specialist.

My daughter had extreme reflux and was on medicine for it until 3 years old. She was originally diagnosed with Eosinophiliac Esophagitis (EE) but later they said it was just extreme reflux causing her issues. Every once in awhile we hear the telling "gurgle" of the reflux but when we ask she says it's fine but in reality I think she's just so used to the feeling that it doesn't phase her anymore which is sad.

LO had reflux as a newborn - she was on various meds and a milk-free formula until she was 4 months, and then seemed to outgrow it, but she spit up until she was nearly a year old. She's 2.5 now and she's a great eater and we haven't had any issues (knocking wood) but in the last couple weeks I noticed that she's burping a lot, there's more saliva overall, and she seems to be coughing more. She had a very quick stomach bug 2 weeks ago, not sure if that could be a factor, and she is prone to chugging milk and water when she's thirsty so it's possible she's taking on air, but I'm a little concerned about reflux making a comeback. Anyone delt with this in toddlers? Worth going to a doc or are there other things worth trying first to see if it eases up?
