@LuLu Mom: yea i'm worried you might be right, ugh :(

@edelweiss: interesting, maybe it's being aggravated by a growth spurt.

@Madison43: yikes. yea, that sounds exactly like my LO, aside from the actual throwing up. but i'm thrilled to hear that it went away with the meds!

@Mrs Green Grass: i do think there's a chance. in fact, at some point when she first started getting teeth (around 6 months) i thought she had silent reflux and brought her to the doc. she was already off dairy for a while at that point (or i should say I was, since she was EBF), but her ped said he thought she just wasn't getting enough solids and wanted us to get her more of a "base" in her stomach by giving her solids. we did and it went away, and she's been fine ever since until now. but she eats a lot of solids, so we can't try the same solution. so long story short, i guess it's possible he overlooked it at that time and she actually had silent reflux, but upping the solids just happened to help at the time? it still seems strange she never had issues when she was really little - she almost never burped as a newborn and slept great.

@Pirouette: I honestly have no idea...she had a lot going on around that time with a lingering runny nose and molars coming in, but i don't know if that had anything to do with it. And because she was throwing up all her dinner, she was waking up multiple times a night hungry - it was brutal.

my friend's LO had bad reflux as an infant, outgrew it, and then it popped up again around 4 years of age. apparently growth spurts can trigger it. not sure if this applies to your LO or not, but yes definitely sounds like it's worth talking about it with the doctor! poor thing.

@Pirouette: I would definitely bring it up to the doctor, they might be able to pinpoint. Because she did have MSPI I'm still thinking it might be a little dairy intolerance causing the discomfort (and it could be causing reflux as well.)

@LuLu Mom: we actually introduced wcm at 10 months (i know, bad!) because she wouldn't take BM or formula. and even now, she'll take a max of 7oz of wcm, she's just never been a milk drinker. she eats tons of yogurt, cheese, etc. however, she had MSPI from 4-10 months, and then outgrew it, but maybe she didn't? i guess this could be a dairy issue, it just seems strange it would emerge all of the sudden when she's been eating tons of dairy with no symptoms for months now.

@Madison43: that's crazy! i wonder if that's what she is going through too. do you have any idea what caused it to come on so suddenly and heal so quickly?

@Mrs Green Grass: at first i thought an actual illness, especially with the stomach flu going around - but it's been going on for a few days with no other symptoms, so i'm guessing it's more like silent reflux. Guess it's time to bring her in to the doc!

13 months isn't that late. It's true most babies outgrow it early, but mine was on Prevacid until 18 months. It does sound like either silent reflux or an actual illness...

Just after she turned 1, my daughter started vomiting every single night right after she went into her crib. She'd go down fine, be basically asleep and then start whimpering, stand up and throw up (tmi - just not a little spit up, the entire contents of her stomach). She is dairy intolerant but nothing in her diet had changed. Ped thought it was reflux and prescribed Zantac and it stopped immediately. She took Zantac for about a month and now everything is back to normal.

My daughter has always had reflux (even as a baby) however she is still on Prevacid at 2 1/2 years old, some kids don't outgrow it right away. However, I don't know what the chances are to get it more as a toddler. Did you switch her to cow's milk at 12 months? Maybe it's the diary intake causing her issues/sensitivity? Is there a chance she could she possible be lactose intolerant, I believe gassy/uncomfortable is a sign of that and the timeline would fit?

For the past few days, maybe a week, my LO has been regurgitating, burping, belching, i don't know what to call it. we keep thinking she's going to throw up but she gets it back down every time. We haven't introduced any new foods, so i'm not sure what's going on, but it seems like a silent reflux maybe? i thought most babies outgrew that by a year. heartburn? the past 2 nights, she hasn't been able to eat dinner because she's uncomfortable - she seems hungry but then won't eat and just wants to nurse instead (which is really inconvenient since she had started the weaning process and dried up my supply so i can't provide her with enough now!) she's been waking at night and dying to nurse as well. Anyway, is it possible to have silent reflux start this late? (she's 13 months). is there something else this could be? She's also slightly congested and definitely teething, but she's always teething, and this has never happened before.

Any suggestions?
