@LuLu Mom: target has frozen twin comforters on sale right now! $29.99

http://www.target.com/p/disney-frozen-comforter-anna-and-elsa-twin/-/A-14898616#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=frozen+comforter

I would have gotten it for DD but she has a toddler bed and it would have been too big.

@bunnylove08: You actually just read my mind, I was thinking of getting her a Frozen blanket for her bed to see that would help, she is obsessed with that movie and I can se her being super excited about it. Or Sofia, we have a huge Sofia fan in our house too! I'll see what Target has, thank you!

@LuLu Mom: we just started to have our DD (2 years old) sleep in her own bed. My MIL suggested we get bedding that she would love, I knew she loves Sofia the first so MIL bought that for her 2nd birthday and it totally worked, She said to me last night while we were cuddling that she wanted to sleep in her bed.

@Mamaof2: She used too now she fights it, we tried the earlier bedtime but that didn't work, she's too wide awake any earlier than 7:45. I start bath/bedtime routine around 7:30 would like her in bed by 8 but it hasn't been happening lately. @NovBaby1112: I'm going to go look for one today, thank you maybe it will do the trick if she has something to look at in her room!

@LuLu Mom: lol I feel you...my LO is very stubborn as well. I lay with M until she falls asleep and then I just sneak out. We play a CD with goodnight lullabies and she also loves her night light thingy- I would give it a try and see!

Will she go to sleep right away on the living room floor or does that take time too? Have you offered to let her sleep on her bedroom floor?

Since she isn't napping well have you tried to move her bedtime earlier? Maybe she is overtired and fighting it?

@NovBaby1112: Oh she used to run to her bed and crawl in and say "tuck me in now mommy." And then all of a sudden she just started fighting it. I bought a Doc McStuffins doll that lives in her bed and if she wants to see her she has to go and lay down with her, it works but then she just "tucks" Doc in and says goodnight, then wants to leave. She will lay in there if I lay with her and sing/read books but as soon as I move to leave she wakes up and gets upset.

I was thinking of trying the lights on the ceiling, maybe I'll get one of those to see if that helps. We have a white noise machine that worked in the beginning but she doesn't even care about that anymore. I use to say "listen to the waves" or "listen to the birds" but she was like "I listen in the living room." She's a super stubborn little girl who's persistence matches mine, it's scary ;)

hmmm....that sounds tricky! and before all of this- she was totally fine sleeping in her own bed?

I would try making her bed/room more exciting/fun- like when my LO doesn't want to go into her room and go to bed, I say stuff like "Oh, do you want to put your baby to bed? let's go give baby a bottle and put her to sleep!" or "let's go read some books in your bed!" and, sometimes I trick her by saying stuff like "Mommy wants to sleep in your bed- I want it!" (she's very possessive so she thinks it's a competition lol). Basically, I try to think of anything that makes her bed or bedroom more fun to be in. Also, a few more ideas are getting some sort of nightlight- we have one that puts stuff on the ceiling and its fun for LO to look at when she's falling asleep. Maybe something that plays calming music or lullabies?

So at almost 2 years old, my daughter now refuses to sleep in her bed. This has been going on for a month, she throws the hugest fit if we try to get her to lay down in there or get up to leave once she's (we think) asleep. She's been sleeping on our living room floor or the couch for the last month or so. Lately she's been needing to fall asleep ON TOP of me like she did as a baby.

Is this normal to have a big regression, could it be her knowing a baby is coming? I really don't want to create bad habits especially before we throw a newborn in the mix in the spring but DH and I are exhausted and are tired of fighting with her for 2+ hours at night to fall asleep so if she will sleep on me then okay at lest she's sleeping. I know this isn't a very good mindset. Suggestion welcome on how to get her back in her big girl bed and back to sleep at a decent time.

For reference: her regular bedtime is 8 pm, lately she's been up until at least 9:30 fighting it and exhausted and will say over and over "I sleepy, I tired." but continues to fight falling asleep. She's wakes up around 6:30-7. And naps are hit and miss at daycare lately.
