@babybean404: Ha funny you should ask since she is now 5 and I just went in last night to fix her darn blanket!

What helped when she was 2.5 though was moving her to a twin bed and giving her a new over-sized down comforter. We make sure its tucked in / positioned well before we leave at bedtime. When she was in her crib I had tried giving her different blankets and she also threw a fit about that, so when we moved her to the bed we presented it as these are your "big girl blankets". We also tried having her sleep in a sleeping bag but then she'd wake up screaming that she was hot. Now at 5 I go in a few times a week once a night because her comforter is on the floor, but she isn't screaming like a maniac anymore about it, just a quiet "Mommy can you help me". Good luck, I know this was an incredibly crazy-making time for us! Hang in there!

@Cherrybee: Now THAT is genius!

My mum sewed little strips of fabric tape to the side of my duvet cover, then tried strips of fabric tape to the slats under my mattress, long enough that she could feed them up the side of my mattress. Then she tied the pieces together, keeping my duvet in place.

@HappyBaker: I know this was years ago but did you find a solution? I am at my wits end, my daughter is 3 and just loses her damn mind in the middle of the night. She deliberately kicks/pulls the covers off before she goes to bed, then screams bloody murder at 3am demanding that we go in and put them on her and fluff them and flatten them etc. we've tried ignoring but she just gets more and more frenzied. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Yikes! Yeah my first thought is to buy a thinner blanket, one size bigger than her current mattress. Then tuck it in on the sides and bottom. Sheesh, good luck!

We had success with crib sized comforter, then a quilt tucked in really good and hanging of the edge. The comforter was slippery, but he quilt was heavy enough that it stayed in place. The quilt was turned so the short side was tucked in the long side of the toddler bed and hung over the other side. (Think just rotated 90 degrees than how it was supposed to be.) The comforter would slip down, but he quilt stayed in place and fixed our problem. Good luck!

ETA: Also try heavy fleece PJ's. Those may help.

Man, I'd put a sleep sack on her even if she hated it. That's crazy.

Omg... Blanket clips? Like the ones you put on strollers? No idea if this would be a hazard...

DD is 2.5 and generally a good sleeper. Her latest thing though is if she becomes uncovered in the MOTN she wakes up and screams until we go retuck her in. She wakes up at least 3-4 times a night because of this and it's driving me crazy! Any ideas on how to fix it? She's still in a crib and refuses a sleep sack, so she just has two toddler bed size blankets. I considered putting a twin comforter in but am worried it'd be way too big / a hazard.
