Man, it's like these babies all read the same instruction manual!! Sounds like I mainly need longer arms. :silly:

He definitely has the most separation anxiety with me. He has yet to demand anyone else's hand.

And yeah, yesterday's daycare drop off after 2 weeks at home for the holidays was rough. Cue hysterical screaming of "MAMA" and tears all around. Sigh...

My LO just started this last week and he's 19 months. It's super great timing since he started daycare yesterday  I hope it passes soon for both of us!

we went through a rough patch, particularly with falling asleep, around 18/19 months. he screamed and cried, and started throwing himself out of the crib (so we converted to the toddler bed). the thing is, if i stayed in the room with him, he wouldn't actually fall asleep. i did several nights of sitting with him, and finally did CIO. it was relatively short, but it was hard.

Totally been there. I have a very sensitive child who went through a long period of needing to have a hand on her head/shoulder/hand in the car. @MrsLilybugg: love that!

We've had to do the hand thing too! Not when I'm driving but in the passenger seat! It will pass!

@SproutBee: Oh I sometimes do the driving holding hand thing too! You are not alone! Is it just with you? When LO is alone with DH she is just fine. But if I'm home too, she has a mama preference. Oh and at night she sleeps in the bed with us so I imagine that if she was in her own crib she'd do the same. (She's 17 months)

In the last week, my 16 mo toddler's separation anxiety has gone through the roof. At night, he's gone from going down awake to needing me to stay by his side holding his hand. He also went from sleeping 11hrs straight (a miracle for him!), to under 10 hours, waking up constantly calling "mama mama mama" until I get him. And the kicker, in the car, he demands I hold his hand. While I'm driving. He screams with his hand reaching for mine and only calms if I reach back and hold his. My elbow is hyperextended, throbbing, and losing circulation... Not to mention how dangerous it must be to drive with one arm outstretched behind you.

I guess just looking for similar stories for reassurance?? This too shall pass, right?!?! In the meantime, advice?!?!
