@Sammyfab: She has always needed a lot of sleep, so this is frustrating! The lack of sleep makes her more prone to tantrums in the morning. I'll see if an earlier bedtime works tomorrow.

@littlek: I've tried to let her fall back asleep but she stopped doing that at around 11 months. When she's up, she is UP and wants to play.

@Freckles: do you give your LO a chance to fall back asleep on the morning? I know if I give B like 5 minutes he will fall back asleep.

I would also try an earlier bedtime just to see what happens ... sometimes they surprise you and sleep just as long, if not longer, because they can shake being overtired.

1:15 nap is a good nap for us! my LO tends to sleep really long nights though so I don't expect him to nap long at daycare.

I would try a slightly earlier bedtime and if that doesn't work then I would assume she just needs less sleep and attempt a schedule shift so that she will go to bed later and wake up later.

another thing is that with my LO, he tends to sleep less when he is teething...especially with his molars and canines (he has popped 8 teeth in the past 4 months). It's usually 2 weeks of lower sleep followed by 2 weeks of tonnnnns of sleep.

@Pancakes: @Rubies: I think i'm panicking that she'll wake up even earlier! She actually naps pretty decently, anywhere from 1.5-2.5 hours. She normally would go down at 11:30-11:45am, but apparently she's been fighting it so she goes down around noon. It's so frustrating, but i may try out the earlier bedtime and see if that helps.

@Freckles: Hmmm. When R started daycare full time (13 months) she didn't nap well at all until she was moved to the toddler room at 18 months. That's just in general. I think it was due to noise, close proximity to other babies, not enough darkness, etc. Once in the toddler room, she naps with all the other preschool kids at a set time (12:30-2:30pm), it's pitch dark, and if another kid wakes up earlier than 2:30, the naptime teacher takes them out for quiet play in another area of the daycare.

As for waking up earlier than usual and still being tired...Might you consider a slightly earlier bedtime? 6:30-6:45? Just to see if it might help?

Can you try moving her bedtime back a little bit to see if that helps? LO has always gone through phases with her sleep, some good, some bad, but when things were bad we always tried to put her down earlier, even if it was 6:30 or 6:45 and that often helped.

Just out of curiosity, at daycare does she sleep in a crib or a cot?

LO is a little over 15 months old, and daycare told me that lately, she has been fighting naptime. Before, they would just put her down and rub her back, and she'd fall alseep in minutes. Now, she just wants to play and cries when they try to get her to lie back down. Her nap today was only 1 hour 15 minutes.

Her schedule these days:
Wake-up: 6am
Nap: 12-1:30pm (sometimes shorter)
Sleep: 7:15pm

Her previous schedule:
Wake-up: 6:40am
Nap: 11:45-1:30pm (sometimes longer)
Sleep: 7:15pm

Did anyone have any toddler sleep issues? Any advice? I wish she would go back to waking up at 6:40am, because these 6am (sometimes earlier) wakeups are killing me. I also think she's still tired because some mornings, she just wakes up crying.
