We do footed fleece pjs and socks underneath. No way would LO stand for a sleep sack anymore and I don't think she'd stay under a blanket either. LO's room is on another thermostat than ours so I keep it warmer on her side, too.

We are dealing with the same thing. My daughter is 15 months. I go in her room before I go to bed to cover her (she starts the night without a blanket because she will play with it and not go to sleep). I just ordered a fleece sleep sack for her because I worry that she is cold in the middle of the night. They make them in XL, so I figure she could use it for some time!!

We just switched to a big bed and it got colder - he woke up at 5 when we kept it at 66 because the blanket came off. he outgrew the biggest sleep sack we had a while ago so I'm going to try and sew a bigger one with leg openings of wool so we can save on heating!

We tried to get DS back in a sleep sack a few weeks ago as we have the same problems as you and he flipped out! I haven't tried the sleep sacks with the foot openings yet so maybe he'll be ok with that. To be honest, all changes of clothes have been a battle and I think he needs to get used to wearing socks or footie pj's. We only have a few fleece pj's. He's starting to sometimes keep a blanket on but that won't fly in the winter. .. I foresee some nighttime battles

We still use a sleepsack at 19 months. She wouldn't keep a blanket on, not to mention she's pretty attached to the darn sleep sack.

We did a sleepsack until just after she turned 2, at which point she was unzipping it so she could climb out of her crib. After we ditched the sleepsack, I read a trick to put it on backward so they can't unzip it. I wish we had tried that. She's 3.5 now and still won't keep blankets on!

I would do footed sleepers. Or put socks on her.

We give R a blanket and she is like Sadie, all over her crib. We try and go in and put the blanket over her before we go to bed. But last night she fell asleep on top of the blanket. I don't want to go back to sleep sacks, so we will do fleece sleepers when it gets cold here.

We stopped using the sleepsack around 12 months but then he started climbing out of the crib so we went back to using the sleepsack because it prevents him from getting out. :)

The same happened to us with DS1. He ditched the sleep sack in the summer and wanted nothing to do with it in the winter. He was 18 months old at the time. We put a small blanket in his bed, but he would kick it off so fast. Just make sure to dress her up in layers and keep her room heated. We use a space heater to make sure it doesn't get too cold in his room. At 3.5 years old he still kicks off his blanket. :(

We use fuzzy footed jammies and a blanket. If she's cold, I'm of the opinion that she will wake up. How cold is it in the house? We don't let ours get below 69/70 typically.

My LO used a sleep sack (when it was cold) until he was out of the crib at 33 months. When he transitioned to a twin, I got him a duvet. But every night when I go check on him he is either sleeping on top of the duvet or it is pushed to the side/off of the bed.

Miss A has never used a sleepsack and she has become a much calmer sleeper as she's got older so most nights she manages to keep her blankets on! I do dress her in several layers and slippers just in case though!

@photojane: K is 19 months and still in a sleep sack and I intend to keep her in one as long as possible! The one time she slept without one for a nap, her feet were all in the crib slats and it was a short 45 min nap. Like @mrskc: , K can walk in her sleep sacks.

DS is 2 (in one week!) and still uses a sleep sack and plan to put him in one this winter. He sleeps on a floor bed and has gotten pretty good and walking in his sack! Lol I think you would find it useful to use this winter. Either that or dress her warmer?

Alright, this is a ridiculous first world, first time mom question, but that's what we're all here for right?!...

We used a sleepsack from after we swaddle weaned until Sadie was about 13 months. It started getting warmer, so we ditched the sleepsack, and I just threw an A&A in the crib. She's never used it as an actual blanket. Just an extra lovey.

Now it's starting to get cold here at night--like in the 40's--so I've added a heavier blanket to the crib. I put it over Sadie when I tuck her in, but 5 minutes later it's off. She doesn't use it all night. Sometimes she will just put her pillow on top of her. She is a craaaazy sleeper... all over her bed, in every position imaginable. The blanket is normally piled in the corner. This morning her little hands and feet were freezing, and her nose was stuffy. She needs a blanket!

So, I'm wondering: does your toddler use a regular blanket or are you still using a sleepsack? If your LO uses a blanket, when did he/she start actually using it all night? I'd hate to invest in sleepsacks if Sadie will be able to use a real blanket soon (we have a million blankets).

FYI, Sadie is 20 months.
