i make blueberry pancakes and they taste good at room temperature for a snack.

Blueberries, grapes, pb sandwiches, mum mums, yogurt melts, fruit pouches work too.

Our travel go-to snacks are:

goldfish
cereal bars (the ones with fruit)
Animal crackers (plain ones, not the ones with icing)

Also; several airports have carried these little hummus and pita snackpacks which have been great for E. I have not seen them in any store around me, so we just look for them now at airports.

Agree with the lollipop! But try to buy ones that aren't crazy colors (or give a flavor that isn't bright blue like we did and then everyone was bright blue when we were in the air! If I can't find sugar fee pops we buy dum-dums and the pineapple is clear.)
Also love the Trader Joe organic fruit leather sold near the registers, string cheese, apple slices.
Good luck! We are also flying this weekend-- with a 21 month yr old but only a 2 hour flight. Phew!

Mum mums. Teething biscuits can be great because they take so long to eat (they're very hard) but they're a bit messy. I say the longer it takes to eat any snack, the better for distraction purposes!!

I have had good luck with anything that's prepackaged, but I realize not everyone likes to go this route.

Wagon Jr. loves fruit snacks so that's always in my bag for emergencies.

I also love toddler mum-mums because of the cute packaging and the fact that they can hold it and take them out of the packaging themselves... and very little mess. They can't really dump it out. And since it's just rice cracker they can really eat a ton without really filling up. But be careful... too much can be constipating.

LO (18 mos) and I are flying cross country this weekend, just the two of us. I would love any suggestions for snacks that would work for the plane, both for nutrition and for an additional distraction.

Right now I am thinking cheerios and raisins but that seems so boring!

Ideas?
