We have encountered this with shoes and hats too- I never put him in either of those prior to them being necessary and it was quite an adjustment for both. FTM mistakes :)! The looping style has no right or wrong way to wear them so they are easy for LO to put on and they are very flexible around the head (the ends don't stick out in the back so the glasses don't fall off). They do have a band that can easily be taken off and are rated really high for eye protection. He's only 4.5 months old though.
