So I did learn last night that she doesn’t think big girls wear training pants so we talked about a bunch of her sisters friends who still do and tang it’s okay. Then by some stroke of luck the training pants I ordered came in and were on the porch when we got home so I made a big deal about her getting a package, and she decided the girl on the box was her (they do look alike). And then she put them on herself after bath! (Both our kids ended up in bed with me though so I didn’t get away Scott free).

Does it bother her to wake up all wet? DD refused to put on her diaper one night (she's day potty trained) and woke up absolutely soaked and pee. Now all I have to do is remind her of that night and she'll immediately give in and let me put the diaper on.

@Becky: do you think she’s embarrassed or just wants to be a “big girl?” DS really didn’t want them either but we told him that they are there just in case because when you’re sleeping, it’s hard for your body to keep the pee inside or something like that. Maybe if that doesn’t work, getting a waterproof pad and doing a pad, then a sheet, then a pad and another sheet so you can just rip off the top sheet and pad and the bed will already be made?

@peaches1038: One kind she said was itchy (and they were—the horrible Huggies ones) so we got the Pampers Easy Ups and those seemed ok until she started rejecting them. She just says she doesn’t want them. We put cloth ones on her last night but she took them off too.

Yeah, PJs sound like a good answer. If she's particular about clothes, maybe pick a new set out together?

@Becky: Hide all of the other pajamas! Oh man, they all disappeared, these are our only choice.

@kiddosc @samsmom I think I’ll bave to look into the footless pjs, but she won’t even let me pick out her clothes during the day 😭 Maybe forcing her into them a few times will work.

I would try dressing her in something that would be difficult for her to remove herself. Something like full body pajamas put on backwards with the zipper up the back, a onesie (if you can find one big enough), or a sleep sack. Having a very strong willed 2.5 year old myself, I know it could be difficult to convince her to wear any of those things.

I haven't had this happen *yet*, but I have a couple friends that just had to put footless one piece pajamas on their kid backwards so they couldn't take their diaper or pull-up off.

I don't know if I described the pjs right, so the link shows the style they used.

DD, age almost 2.5, has been reusing to wear training pants at night for over a month. I was sneaking in and putting them on her, but the past several nights she’s woken up sometime in the middle of the night to take them off. Then she falls back asleep and pees all over the place and I have to change the sheets in the middle of the night. On top of this she’s waking a thousand times and coming in my room so I feel like I have a newborn again. Anyone have strategies to keep them on her? I feel like I can convince her to get them on before bed eventually, but aside from sleeping next to her I’m not sure how to prevent their inevitable removal.
