A bit of an update: We figured out what was up with the recent morning tantrums. It's his toddler independence/stubborn streak. Last night as we were getting him ready for bed, I offered the milk. He threw one of his epic tantrums. He doesn't like me offering it to him in the way that I was. It wasn't the cup. I love Oxo sippies btw.

This morning, I got him out of his crib and set the milk on the ottoman. He played a bit before changing him. He was a little tantrum-y with that, but less than the kind we've been having. After dressing him, he went for the milk. I read him a morning book or two while he drank happily. He had a little bit more before leaving for daycare.

So, it's my baby's toddler independence not me, the sippy cup, or the milk. If anyone's seen my Instagram, he's stubborn to begin with.

@pelikila: I'm not warming the milk. That's another good suggestion.

Are you warming the milk? Maybe he wants warmed milk.

@T.H.O.U.: I'm not sure if it's the milk that's throwing this off. When offered, he throws it down. He'll drink but only when it's been awhile.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: It's the same cup. We're using OXO sippy cups which he responded to well when we switched to them from Avent bottles. Trying a different cup sounds like an interesting approach. I know at daycare, he drinks milk from the plastic disposable ones, can't remember their name. I could try that tonight and see how he responds.

There is one, and only one, cup that Chloe will drink milk out of. You have no idea how long it took me to figure this out.

Is that a possibility? You said he is drinking milk before day care.. Is it in the same cup?

Can you just offer him formula in the sippy? Is it really the milk that is throwing him off?

Our morning routine is pretty average. I get LO out of his crib, give him formula, now milk, then change him for daycare. The past couple of days, he's had all out screaming tantrums that wake up DH, frustrate me, and make me feel like the worst parent ever as DH plays "super dad" in those moments.

Before this, LO did pretty well during our morning routine. With the introduction of whole milk, he breaks out into full on tantrum at the sight of his sippy cup. He did the sippy cup transition great, cold turkey. The whole milk transition has been less than stellar. What should I do to make our morning routine better? I'm thinking of offering less milk to see if that helps, then slowly bringing it up again or changing his clothes first, then feeding him. He gets a sippy of milk before daycare, then eats solids there. He's also teething on top of it.

I'd love for this phase to end.
