@JerricaBenton: ok I'm going to guess that my DD is getting her 2nd year molars then. She will be 22 months next week, and her canines poked through 1-2 months ago. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!

@Lilbear: it's terrible but I don't remember! LO's a crazy good teether and I never noticed until they popped through! The dentist confirmed they were all broken through. Id guess at 21-22 months. The only ones that bothered her at all were the canines. Hers are almost all out now but she'll still push on the gums there and say 'hurts.' We used Motrin during the worst of it and it seemed to help a lot.

@JerricaBenton: when did your LO start getting the 2nd year molars? I thought that once the teeth break the surface the teething pain is over. If this is caused by her canines fully coming in, this is the first time that has happened for my LO (that the pain continues until the tooth is fully in all the way.) did your LO still have pain for the months following the first breaking through of the canines?

We were just at the dentist and she said LO's (just turning 2) second year molars have all broken through but they won't be in for six - nine months. She hasn't seemed to have any pain from them. I know canines are supposed to be the most painful so maybe your LO's pain is just from those still working their way up.

When did your LO's 2nd year molars start coming in? My DD is 21 months old and is having teething discomfort right now. She has all 4 of her 1st year molars (fully in) and all 4 of her canines have poked through, but they aren't fully in yet. Could the discomfort be the beginning of her 2nd year molars starting or is it because her canines need to fully come in still (even though they have already broken through the surface)? I thought she was too young for her 2nd set of molars. Any advice is appreciated!
