What's the worst that can happen? She'll throw it up again and then you go back to more bland stuff and see what happens? I'd be inclined to try it if that's what she's craving.

When I have a bug, the little McDonald's hamburgers are the only thing I can stomach! I thought I was crazy, glad others are aware of the magical healing powers as well!

Also if she's puking water she might need some electrolytes - a few salty fries and a banana might help!

My son had a stomach bug two weeks ago and hardly ate a thing for 2-3 days and my ped told me to let him eat anything he wanted. He had a few mini marshmallows, McDonald's fries, white Gatorade, and in between bites of fries I got him to eat a little baby food (Apple berry oatmeal so something fruity). He was drastically better the next day!

@Cherrybee: my mom's "secret trick" to cure tummy troubles is McDonalds fries and a regular Coke. She has a totally unsupported theory that the grease coats your stomach. Glad your LO is feeling better!

@Foodnerd81: Yes, its a similar thing then. Ours contains added sugar too, and has little chunks of apple in. I cant imagine E eating it, she's not big into fruit or wet textured food..... but those crackers sound like they'd be a hit!

@Cherrybee: poor E. I would at least make sure she eats them very slowly. I hope some stay down!

Applesauce is pretty much puréed apples here. Very bland and easy to keep down. Graham crackers are sort of a cross between a cookie and a cracker. They are delicious.

@regberadaisy: The problem I have is we are in the middle of a kitchen reno - I have no kitchen, no food in the house and no way of getting anything because DH is working. So.... only toast.

Apple sauce is a condiment here?? Is it the same thing??

@blackbird: Never heard of them! Are they like water biscuits? Or Ritz crackers?

Okay, so DH came home and E was so excited to see him, asking for fries. So I've asked him to get her some..... I have every reason to suspect we will see the again shortly after :bummed:

I agree all that grease is a bad idea.

What have you offered so far? I would do crackers, applesauce, etc. very bland food.

I think all that grease is a terrible idea. But she could probably use a little salt since she's been vomiting all night. What about crackers? I'm hesitant to go from no food straight to French fries. What about graham crackers?

Side note- when I'm sick, McDonald's fries is the only thing I want too. But that's a different kind of sick 😉

My poor little E woke up at 3am and vomited everywhere. She threw up a further two times overnight and then twice this morning - 9am and 10.30am, both times after chugging water (I tried to get her to slow down but she was so thirsty).

She has kept a little water down but is very weak and pathetic now because she is so hungry. I've offered toast but she wont eat it (not unusual) - but she is specifically asking for McDonalds fries. DH will be home from work any minute and can go get some but is this a terrible idea?? She is very sad because she's so hungry but insistent it has to be fries......
