We do Benadryl at night to help dry up the post-nasal drip. Our pediatrician let us know how much to give. Most of the time it helps him at least get to sleep and doesn't cough as much as normally would. We've also done Vick's on the bottom of his feet and then put socks on, though I think that's more of an old wive's tale my MIL believes works :)

Yea. The same thing is happening to us now. So much mucus in the chest and it often makes him throw up. We are doing steam and warm tubs, cool mist humidifier, etc. just waiting for it to clear up.

Same thing for us a couple weeks ago. It was awful. Sorry you are dealing with it. Our doc had us try cough medicine (he is 2.5), but I didn't really notice a difference. Good luck. Lasted about a week for us.

this happened to us this morning, too! I think the cold is rounding the corner, though, so hoping it doesn't happen again. we didn't do anything different for him yet.

We just had something similar. He was coughing so much he threw up in bed. You can't do much for a cough at this age. We steam him in the shower when it's really bad. Nose Friday, humidifier etc.

My 3 year old has had a pretty bad runny nose since Tuesday night. She's vomited 4 times, but only when she's laying in her bed so I'm thinking it's from the post nasal drip. She will cough and then it sounds like she's choking/vomiting from all of that mucus being in her throat.

We have the cool mist humidifier running, elevated her bed, Vapor rub on the chest, nasal aspirator. Is there anything else we can do? I did leave a message with her doctor, but figured I would check on here as well. It makes me sad to see her so miserable and I'm tired of cleaning up puke at all hours of the night
