Yup we just finished an 18 month growth spurt. One night she ate two full slices of a large NY style everything pizza and was hungry an hour later....

yeah, my ped said they go throw waves of eating all day, eating like birds, eating regular meals, etc. and just to roll with it.

Growth spurt!!

Offer lots of healthy foods especially those with protein to help fill her up. Greek yogurt, cheese, meats, eggs etc. My DD loves peanut butter on her fruit! Even cottage cheese or cream cheese can add to a snack.

This is completely normal. My 2yr old goes through weeks where it seems like she never stops eating all day long. I promise you it will stop and you will be trying trying anything to get her to eat!

Then repeat. ;)

My 2 year old seems to rather snack than actually eat at meals. He'll eat and then tell me he's hungry 1 hour later! My husband read somewhere that toddlers prefer to "graze".

My toddler went through the same thing around 18 months. She's 21 months now and seems more satisfied after a meal and 2 snacks a day, but she was a bottomless pit at 18 months!!!! She would eat more than me! Maybe it's a growth spurt.

My 18 month old wants to eat every hour it seems! I swore I would not be one of those parents constantly plying their child with snacks but she constantly says "eat" or "snack" and tries to get them herself. She still eats a lot at mealtimes. Her Dr did not seem concerned as she is 75% for weight and height...

I obviously don't want to not feed her if she's hungry, but I don't want her to snack all day out of boredom either. I mostly give her fruit to snack on. If I don't give her anything, it's a major meltdown (this happens multiple times per day).

So, is it possible to overfeed them at this age if it's mostly healthy foods?
