@regberadaisy: Ugh, two weeks ago LO suddenly wanted to nurse after we got home! She was really upset i didn't want her to nurse, and of course come bedtime, there was nothing for her!

LO is a little over 15 months and not showing any signs of weaning either. She only nurses in the morning and before bedtime. I really want her to self-wean but i don't see any signs of that happening!

My LO is 15 months and ideally I would like her to self wean but she is showing NO inclinations of such. She has gotten more frantic for the boob lately. Grabbing for it after our morning session. Whining/crying for it on the weekends.

Ideally I want to stop by 2 and at this point I'm not sure that's possible without me just refusing to give it. Which has not worked lately.....

My son self weaned at 21 months. He was OBSESSED with nursing, needed to nurse to sleep, etc., so I didn't think self weaning was going to happen or at least anytime soon. I was okay with that because of his FPIES and the TED I was on it was the safest food we had, although I would have probably started to wean shortly after 24 mo anyway. Regardless he just didn't ask to nurse to sleep one night and never asked for it again.

My LO isn't a toddler she is just about 11 months but she is a milk monster and I don't see her weaning anytime soon. However, I'm pregnant and I'm not interested in tandem nursing so I'm hoping to wean a few months (at least) before baby gets here.

I haven't seen a thread like this lately, so I thought I'd start one up. My 22 month old has greatly slowed down her nursing lately, and I think she's headed towards weaning. I recently went an entire 24 hours without nursing her, and barely felt any engorgement. She's stopped asking for it when she gets hurt or scared - and that especially breaks my heart. I love nursing her.

On the other hand, I'm 25 pounds from my goal weight, and I can't diet while I'm breastfeeding. I'm also infertile, and my midwife won't proscribe clomid while I'm still breastfeeding, so more children are on hold. We'd wanted children two years apart, and my daughter will be two in September, so that is really making me sad.

I'm having some very mixed feelings about this, basically, even though she's weaning on exactly her time table, which is how I'd planned to do it. Where are you all at? Any one have a toddler they'd like to wean but can't? Anyone else wanting to wean to have another child?
