Does it count if they are repeating words back to you, but not using them on their own? What about animal noises that they are using correctly upon seeing a picture of the animal? Fwiw LO is 17 months old and has about 40 words. At her 15 month checkup she had about 20-25 words and the doctor said that was highly unusual that she had so many. I just want to make sure I'm counting words correctly! </p>
