My lo does that too. When she was younger our dog didn't really care, he would just walk away and it was good because they'd be separated. He'd also give her kisses first.... He was a really good dog :)

Now lo is 2 and our last dog passed away so we got a new pup. She's also amazing with lo and just takes it. But obviously it's not ok so we started time outs. It's still new to us, she doesn't understand time outs or why hitting is bad yet.... To the point that she hits during time out and laughs about it. But I don't know what else to do. We do a 2 minute time out, explain why hitting is wrong, and then have her apologize to the dog.

So recently my 15 month old has gotten super rough with our dogs! We have always modeled "nice touches" and being gentle with the dogs, but she has just started to kick, hit and chase them and thinks it is hysterical! No matter how many times we correct, she keeps doing it. I know she's not trying to be mean to them, she just thinks its funny. She has never seen us or anyone mistreat the dogs, I just don't know how to get her to be gentler. The dogs are terrified of her now! Is this something anyone else has experienced? Does it just pass or is there something else to do?
