I’m not sure how to proceed, but I just thought I’d mention that I liked the Gerber training underwear. They have padding that will absorb a small incident, so you don’t have to deal with puddles or totally soaked clothes. It made accidents less frustrating for us and made me more confident about taking her out in public in underwear.

@lioneyes: How long can he hold in his pee? Does the pre-school help them on the potty? My kids were expected to pull up/down their underwear. I would probably keep your son in pullups for now, and then put him in underwear when he is used to using the potty when he has clothes on. But again, it depends on what support is available at the preschool. Good luck!

Also, don't be too hard on yourself! I learned that a set back doesn't mean failure, and we have to prepare ourselves for lots of wet clothes and bedsheets.

@lioneyes: With only two hours maybe once he’s a bit further along you could just do undies and make sure to pack 1-2 changes of pants? I have so far still sent in pull ups but he tries to keep them dry so it’s not a total reversal. He goes 5 hours including nap so it’s harder to go just undies, but honestly I’m thinking there’s so little school left we’ll get to 100% after it’s out for the summer.

I third the recommendation to loop in your day care! Ours was very supportive once we got started at home, even though the first few weeks were a mess and we'd have to bring in a few changes of clothing.

It's not daycare, it's 2 hr preschool. they don't change his diaper- I change hm before and after.

They do take them to the bathroom, every hour. I will ask them to do it every 30 mins but I'd like him to be further along.

I would find out what support you have at daycare. If you tell them that you're potty training, they will (or should be able to) help with it. With my kid, i kept her in pullups at the beginning because we weren't completely there with the training.

Just sending a hug. My son turned 3 in January but i did not even try until March as I felt sick until into second tri and there was just no way. But since you’ve already made progress I hope daycare can support you to keep going! I think a lot of kids make better progress there so it might even help overall.

What kind of support will you get at daycare? I’d say keep going if your training time will be reduced during the week.

DS is 3, and we are on day 3 of potty training bootcamp. He consistently will go #2 in the little potty, but pee is like 60/40 (the 40% when he doesn't go in the potty is more just like drips than a full pee, but it still means a clothing change/cleaning the floor). He has been naked the past 3 days, but this morning he wanted shorts, which he peed in, so now we are back to naked.
Tomorrow Spring Break is over and he's back at school. I am def going to put him in a diaper/pull up for the commute (1 hr) but then should I put him in underwear? He's not taking himself to the potty when he has to go; if you tell him it's time every 45 mins, he will sit on it and go if he has to.
Will the past few days have been a waste if we go back to diapers until the weekend, then continue this training? Or do I table it until he really gets it? Let me also mention I am 8 weeks pregnant, super nauseous and feeling like the world is out to get me so this being a "failure" is clearly a bigger deal to me that to a normal person.
