Thanks! Our friends actually had a small stool by their toilet when we were visiting this weekend so we tried that. It worked well! I am hoping to eliminate the small toilets soon.

My older son didn’t start standing until he was about 4.5. He would only stand when peeing outside under a tree. Now he only stands.

@kt326, sorry! Yes he is too short to be on the floor and get it in.

@bhbee, @bluemasonjar yes, at daycare even though.they have the small toilets they taught us the lean forward. So when we get to him at home we have him stand on the toilet seat and lean forward. There are times when we are busy and can’t get right there, I like to give him the power to do it on his own...it is just messy. Thanks for the advice!

We are in the throes of potty training DS but he recently started standing up.

Like @bhbee suggested we have him lean forward and he has no problem getting it in the toilet (except for a few drips at the end sometimes.) It has been harder with some other toilets that are an inch or so too tall for him. In public we have him stand on our feet if needed for extra height.

We have a cheap plastic stool as we have giant toilets - the adults just move it with a foot, no problem. My son is almost 4 but I don’t think he could make it work without it. I got the tip on here (maybe from @lbee?) to have them lean forward and hold onto the lid - points it right in.

Of course, now that he’s been trained a while he doesn’t always do that and the other day he told me he “lost control” and I had the wash the shower curtain

Is he not tall enough to use a regular toilet? I’d be afraid a stool would be too high and pee would still get everywhere (although my 6 year old still has terrible aim at times..)

Ok so my son is basically toilet trained, he will be 3 in January. Any solutions for boys standing up to pee? I want him to be able to do it independently. Currently we have a baby born seat but pee goes everywhere since it is two pieces and he ends up hitting the seat back so it drips down. Any stools that don’t render the toilet useless to adults? The mini urinals? I hate to buy another contraption but I am ready for a better solution.

Daycare encourages the standing up so too late to go back on that. He is tall too, probably close to 39” now. TIA!
