Just wanted to update:

Our ped was skeptic that the tongue tie was an issue (probably bc DS3 gained 4 lbs in a month ha) but gave us a referral to an ENT. We got his tongue tie clipped by the ENT when he was 5.5 weeks old and it made a HUGE difference! He’s like a new baby!

Be prepared to find a dentist. Peds do not specialize in ties and usually defer to a dentist anyway. I know how much it has helped a lot of people, and it's something we are looking into as well for gas/reflux.

Yes. My friend's daughter had a tongue-tie that she didn't get fixed, but endured hour long nursing sessions every single feeding because she ate SLOWLY and was obviously also gulping lots of air. Lots of spitting up, lots of gas.

Yes! Clipping it fixed a ton of issues for us - weight gain and nursing were never the problem

I’m fairly certain DS3 has a tongue tie (it’s super visible). It isn’t causing any breastfeeding discomfort for me, and he seems to be gaining weight well (we have his 1 mo well check Wednesday). BUT, he is super gassy, nurses very frequently, and you know. Doesn’t hardly sleep 😭 I’m obviously going to ask the ped too, but do these sound like tongue tie symptoms to you? (Google gives mixed results, as per usual)
