Also, several factions of DH's family are notorious for not rsvping and showing up anyway and I had no idea how common that was. It helps to hear that they are outside of the norm!

@mrs. bird: I asked everyone to rsvp by text to make it easier. The problem is some of the kids are part time and don't come fridays. Notes are not a bad idea...

It helps to hear people are unlikely to come, I think.

It will still be a pretty big party because we are inviting non daycare friends too. I think we have 9 kids and 2 babies and about 25 people total at this point. I am fine with the size, I just wish people would let me know either way, you know?

people suck. could you get to daycare a little early today and put notes in the cubbies asking people who haven't RSVPed to please do so tonight because you need to get a count for food, people are more likely to respond if they can email or text, so maybe include your cell & email. i'm sorry people are blowing you off, i'm sure it will be a really special day even if it's a small party.

Usually if people don't RSVP, they don't show up. I hate that. It's so rude.

I always track down the slackers that haven't RSVP'd, but typically if they haven't RSVP'd, they probably won't show up.

LO's third birthday party is this weekend! Yay! This is our first big party with invitations to friends at daycare, etc. so we are excited...but, we have so many people who have not RSVPed.

The deadline was last Sunday and I gave out invites a month ago.

I invited the 18 kids in her class and of those, I have gotten 5 yes responses and nothing from the other 13 people. I am not sure if it is safe to assume they are not coming or hedge my bets. I am hoping to order some extra food and make some extra treat bags and crossing my fingers?

What would you do in this situation? Most of these parents I see at school but don't have numbers for so there is no way to track them down even if I wanted to.

In your experience, do people who don't bother to RSVP show up or not?
