Thanks, all! This is so helpful. We decided to do Hawaii when I'm 22 weeks but not really because of me being worried to travel. Either way, I'll probably be flying about once a month until 30 weeks unless my doc grounds me and I am going to be relaxed about it!

I traveled a TON during my pregnancy with work. I just looked back and I took 11 plane trips during my pregnancy (4 first trimester, 4 second trimester, 3 third trimester). At one point I had plane trips 4 out of 5 weekends during late second and early third trimesters.

My last flight was at 32 weeks and I was glad it was the last one. The last few trips really took a lot out of me. But I really don't think your schedule is bad at all.

That's not that bad. I've taken two cross-country work trips already during this pregnancy and have another one booked for next week, possibly I may have 1-3 more before my maternity leave. I do skip the backscatter machine at TSA. You're right to be concerned about radiation on the plane but it's not that big a deal.

I had HG so I was not feeling at all from weeks 5-24. I had two hospital stays, too. For me, I've used and paid for trip insurance. It was always a lifesaver. Also, luckily, the two times I had to use it, it was a qualified expense (hospital stays).

I think you should plan your trips and have back up plans if you have complications. My sister is pregnant with twins and she's had a pretty good (uneventful) pregnancy so far. She even went to Europe early in her pregnancy. I know I would have been miserable.

I traveled a ton while pregnant - two domestic round trips in my first trimester, a long haul from NYC to Asia, plus numerous flights around Asia in my second trimester, and another domestic flight early in the third trimester. I did throw up on one of the in Asia flights during a late bout of morning sickness, and wished I could have taken a sleeping pill on the return Asia to NYC flight, because it was hard to get comfortable and sleep, but really, none of these trips was worse or more tiring than any other flying experience I've had.

The only thing I did differently when pregnant was to inform them at security and do a hand screening.

I traveled at 22 weeks and 28 weeks and it was totally fine. Just get an aisle seat for easy access to the restroom

I traveled by airplane every week for my first pregnancy until I was 28 weeks. I and DS were perfectly fine. I did need to wear compression stockings since I tend to have a low blood pressure anyway and I needed to eat something sugary before I got off the plane.

I did a transatlantic flight at 21 weeks and back at 24 weeks with LO2 and my doc wanted me on heparin for that. Honestly while I was fine it was quite exhausting (it didn't help that I had a 1.5 year old toddler traveling with me). So if I had to choose I would prefer to travel at 16 weeks (but then I was never prone to morning sickness)...

I traveled a decent amount the first two trimesters of my first pregnancy (cross country and transatlantic). I felt absolutely fine other than being excessively tired in early pregnancy.

I've traveled a fair amount during this pregnancy, including a red eye to Europe, and it's been fine. I was dreading it - and I did puke in the lavatory once - but it didn't make me feel any worse than normal. I'm pretty used to traveling for work though, and don't mind travel in general.

I traveled every weekend for 6 weeks this pregnancy. That included 3 trips via flight and 3 via car. I was 33 weeks at the end of it all. It was exhausting, but that's the only downside. I'm 36 weeks now and have pretty much been hibernating since.

I dunno but I'm doing a total of I think ten 5-6 hr flights plus two thy were taken the month I got pregnant (I still hadn't tested but was almost six weeks on the return and almost 4 on the way there.) My OB hasn't said I shouldn't and I did tell her about it.

Man travel all you can now as long as you physically feel up to it. Pack light and ask for help if you need to lift your luggage.
Wear up to or over the knee compression socks (I like travel sox).get up and walk a lot. I flew 10+ hours at 30 weeks with my last LO and a few shorter flights before then. I'm flying at 22 weeks for (12+ hours for the longest segment) in a few weeks with 8 segments over a 2 week period. To be honest I'm looking forward to it since I won't have my toddler with me. Ahhhhh

I traveled a ton while pregnant, including several trips cross-country. It was fine. If you think you might be tired, I think Hawaii at 24 weeks could be great. I still felt really good then.

I don't know about too many trips at once, that would make me uneasy too.

But I think 24 weeks would still be enjoyable for a Hawaii vacation, for sure. I wasn't really uncomfy until 32+ weeks, and I was bigggg and all in front.

So I may be taking 3 airplane trips within a 1 month span while in my 2nd trimester. First is a 2.5 hour trip (each way) at 14 weeks, then a 5 hour at 16 weeks, then a 6 hour at 20 weeks. I am not high risk but just not sure if that's crazy! The 16 week trip is to Hawaii and would be for fun but I could reschedule to when I'm 24 weeks. Would 24 weeks still be enjoyable for a Hawaii vacation? My gut is saying 3 trips in a month is too much but would love to hear from others who traveled a lot while pregnant. Thank you!!
