I've seen some mean bridezillas come forth. A helping hand makes it so much easier. It was easy to get referrals from family and friends through social media (MySpace back then and later on Facebook). It was never a full time gig for me though and I was selective of the parties that I would help out in. If the host/hostess was on a strict budget, they would have to tell me the theme a few months early so we could shop for sale or super bargain items to use for the party. I'm hoping the precedent set is we celebrate yes, but party hearty is a sometimes thing. Starting with 6 low key again. One of the HB posters commented that during bdays her mom had a special placemat and plate for her to use. I loved that. All day celebration with small, but special touches will be the norm.</p> <p>@Kimberlybee: How did people find you to have them help with their party? I realize now I hate throwing parties all by myself and an extra pair of hands for set up and through out the event wpuld be great. But then I remember that a lot of bees make a lot more than we do so 200 is more like 40 for me. Same thing with this party, while I might "go all out" and spend 500, a lot of the bees don't think twice about spending 1000+ on a small get together. People spend thousands of dollars on a first birthday party. My hubs first bday party had 300 people! I think its a trip, they have face painters and jumpers and cater food and balloon people, magicians, some have even had a bar for the parents! It's crazy! </p> <p>So yeah my vote is over the top. It's cool that they got such great deals though. The child might remember the party.
