@baby98765: You should go off your LO's cues. At 3.5 months I think babies need about 15 hours of sleep (night + day). If he's tired 30 mins after he wakes, I'd try getting him to sleep again.

Liv used to always take a 30 minute nap an hour after she woke up every day, and this was after sleeping 10-12 hours. The other thing you could do is leave him when he wakes up for a bit and see if he falls back to sleep on his own. It could be the start of another short sleep cycle. But I doubt hes getting too much night time sleep.

Yes, but this was like 30 minutes, if that.

It is normal for babies to take an early morning nap. My daughter would sleep for 12 hours at that age, wake up at 7, but then gladly nap again at 9. At that age, babies are tired after 1.5 or 2 hours of awake time.

My 3.5 month old sleeps great at night. He goes to bed between 7 and 8pm, wakes once around 5am for a bottle and then sleeps until 7-8:30am. He is having the worst time napping though. I feel like he is constantly tired. For example, last night he was asleep around 7:45pm, woke at 5am for a bottle, then slept until 8:30am. He was happy and talking in his crib. By the time I changed him, got him downstairs and made a pot coffee, he was yawning again. His eyes were glassy and red and he was rubbing his face - all signs of being tired, right? but he slept for 12 hours! It makes me wonder if he is sleeping too much at night. You know how if you sleep in, you sometimes feel more tired when you wake up?
