Green, yellow, brown. All of these things are normal. My baby poops that often even now at 13 months. I wouldn't worry about it.

@caffeinated: in my personal experience, I would say that the constipation and then green sounds exactly like what we had before our MSPI diagnosis. We are completely dairy free at this time. They can't test for food allergies very accurately at this age. So you can try taking foods out and seeing if there is improvement. I also swear by probiotics. They work wonders for my little guy. Good luck!

@lydg: 6.5 months old.

@skibobrown: it's a light green. it's not really mucousy as there is some lumpiness to it. the morning poop is the most similar to whatever she had for dinner, but it gets greener as the day goes on.

@brownie: this always seems to happen after a bout of constipation. :(

I would wait until tomorrow and see if things start sorting themselves out. Otherwise, you may want to visit the pediatrician for a little piece of mind. From what I remember, it's only really bright green poop that is problematic.

Green poop could be food (and with constipation also it may be). Or too much formilk or a virus or just the tummy acclimating. Ultimately, it is just that the food is running through the digestive track too fast. Look at new foods before the constipation and it could be something new you ate. You could try probiotics to help digestion. You could just wait it out. I wouldn't worry on poop alone but if there are other concerns bring them up to your doctor.

We take out LO to the doctor because the $20 is cheap for the peace of mind.

Okay, i know some of you are going to laugh considering my last post was about constipation!

The last couple of days (post constipation relief) LO has been pooping almost after every nursing session in the morning/early afternoon, which has been ruining all of her naps! Today she had a poopy diaper when she woke up for the day, pooped while i fed her breakfast, pooped again after i nursed her. Then she pooped after her second nap, and again after she had dinner. That's 5 times, and as the day went on, her poops became more green in colour (but still with some texture).

What's going on? I read that when stools are green, it may indicate a food allergy/sensitivity, but she hasn't eaten anything new. Could i be nursing her too often? I nurse her 5x by the time she goes to sleep, and she takes in solids 2x a day (breakfast + dinner).

Some insight would be appreciated. :(
