That is an utter fiction. On a typical day, my daughter will have a half cup of strawberries for breakfast, an apple as a snack, a cup or grapes for lunch, a kiwi and a half cup of blueberries for a snack, and then a half cup of corn with dinner. Fruit and veggies are an ideal food for anyone.

Fruit juice is a little different - it's all the sugar, but no stomach filling bulk. My policy is no fruit juice except orange juice, and only with a lot of pulp. And only one half cup per day.

Now, I have to make sure to feed my daughter protein first, otherwise she'll often just fill up on the fruit. But that's my only concern. If she's had some good fat and protein already, she can eat fruit until she's stuffed.

I only give my LO a few servings of fruit a day because the sugar content is high. She likes veggies right now so I'm taking advantage of that!

@kiddosc: No she didnt give me clear details on it... I dont think she really knows, she is just repeating something she heard.

@bluestriped bee: Yeah thats true fruits are high in sugar but since its natural I am not too worried about that yet..

@Chillybear: Yes thats also true, my daughter was also very sensitive to certain fruits and still cant eat citrus

I don't know why it would be a bad thing. I think it's a great thing to say your LO enjoys fruit!

The only thing is if your LO isn't having enough protein, like rice or pasta.

I would be in heaven if my future LO enjoyed fruit as much as I do.

ETA: Or maybe your friend was talking about the sugars in fruit. There can be a lot of sugar in fruit juices. I'm thinking of your friend. I still think it's great that your child loves fruit. BTW, I don't have any kids yet, so I may have no idea what I'm talking about.

Is there such a thing as too much fruits for LO? My LO eats lots of fruits she eats raw grapes nearly everyday, steamed pear puree with yogurt, and also eats prunes, and somedays she eats raw blueberries and strawberries. A friend of mine was saying how too much raw fruit juice or raw fruit is bad for babies & toddlers. Is this just fiction or is it true?
