Not to alarm you--hopefully it's nothing. But recently one of myMy mom friends here had trouble waking her 16 month old when he had the flu, similar to what you describe. He also wasn't having wet diapers even though he was nursing a good amount. She called the Ped, who told her to go to the ER, and he ended up being in the hospital for 3 days.

I can't remember what was wrong off the top of my head-- this was a month ago--but she said it could have been serious if she hadn't taken him in.

@Bao: poor love. I think I would be worried about the lack of wet nappies and probably take her to the doctor tomorrow.

@illumina: she has the flu yes. She ate good this morning and snacked very little this afternoon but had a good 20-25oz of water. Not many wet diapers though. No fever. Diarrhea. No more vomiting though. I mean she's all there just whines or cries and is only ok if she's sleeping.

Maybe call the pedi and inquire, but sounds like lethargy is taking a toll on your LO from being sick so totally normal. Sounds like she's eating and drinking well so I'd let her sleep.

Is there such a thing? I know it makes sense for kids to sleep it off when sick but my one year old has been up a total of 2 hours yesterday and 2 today. She's been eating and drinking but then wants to go right back to sleep. She will scream until I put her back into her bed. Any thoughts on this? Wait it out and hope tomorrow she wakes up better? It just seems like a lot to me even with being sick.
