Thanks guys. I'm calm on that. I'm concerned with a UTI I know that I have now. I'm just waiting for the doctor to call me back and hopefully prescribe something before my first prenatal appointment!

Breathe and try to relax. :) Women have been getting pregnant and having babies for tens of thousands of years in non ideal circumstances, in conditions most of us would consider “hazardous” while getting inadequate diets and while ingesting substances now deemed dangerous. You cannot OD on vitamin C by drinking a couple things of juice – the amounts needed to OD or to terminate a pregnancy (unproven method, btw) are extremely high and only found through taking massive amounts of vitamin C supplements.

Try to keep your stress levels down as stress may affect the fetus (don’t let knowing this stress you out more! Use it to your advantage to calm yourself down). Try to enjoy this time. :)

@cascadecherub: Breathe! :) I got a cold during my first trimester and took tons of Vit C in supplement form to get rid of it. I'm now nearly 32 weeks pregnant with a baby boy who won't stop kicking me. Babies are heartier than we like to think. A few "mess-ups" along the way are nothing to torture yourself over. Think how many healthy babies were born in the days before all these rules. Heck, they've even changed significantly since we were born and we're just fine, right? Congratulations and try to enjoy it!

@cascadecherub: don't overthink things, really.
Did you know that even some toothpastes say to consult with your doctor before use if you are pregnant?

I know you want to be safe...just know that you can live your life normally while pregnant. As long as you are taking prenatals, avoiding fatty foods, staying under 200mg of caffeine a day, not drinking alcohol and not smoking, i think you'll be okay. (also try to stay away from deli meats and undercooked meat)

They also say you can't take ecinaecha when you are pregnant, and I was taking it for 5 days or so before i found out it wasn't recommended. I called my doc and she said everything would be fine...and she was right!

Crap, I'm freaking myself out here a bit. I just did a cranberry chew. I just looked on the internet and it said to consult with doctor if you're pregnant or nursing. I puked, but I don't know if I puked it up. Now, I'm freaking out!!

@Mrsbells: Thank you for relieving my fears there. On another board, someone was planning a termination and mentioned taking a lot vitamin C. I'm still at the super, super cautious stage since I'm only a day passed my period. I just want a healthy baby at the end of 9-10 months.

You cannot harm you baby by drinking orange juice or eating lots of fruits and veggies. Only the synthetic vitamin found in supplements is thought to be harmful in large doses.

@Mrsbells: I don't plan on taking Vitamin C supplements. I was just concerned if I accidentally harmed the little bean inside me. Before I drank the OJ after my normal Wednesday night routine, I tested. Even my most diluted pee got a deep dark positive. So, that was a relief.

you can never overdose on natural vitamin C from fruits and fruit juices. You should just not over do vitamin C supplements

Yesterday, I drank a coconut water (17 fl. oz) and then later an orange juice (10-12oz). This was in addition to my prenatal. As a newly pregnant bee, I read about too much vitamin C could do harm to my seed inside me. Did I overdue the Vitamin C yesterday? I just want to my new resident to stick, stick and be a healthy, happy baby.
