Thanks everyone! Took her back this morning when she woke up with a fever still. It's one pesky cold and an ear infection. Picked up her prescription right away and hoping we are on our way to feeling better!

I would definitely take lo back. Is she having any trouble breathing? DS got rsv and bronchiolitis last year when he started daycare at 3 months and he still has to have breathing treatments and he's 11 months old. I feel very guilty about it because I didn't want to bother the doctor and I just agreed with their treatment plan even though I knew he needed something more. I really failed to advocate for my son and I will never do that again. I call all the time now and do not care at all if they think I'm high maintenance or annoying. I'm sure your lo will be fine but I would definelty schedule a visit.

I would go back again too. If it makes you feel better I have 3 kids and I still second guess myself a million times. I am actually taking 2 of my kiddos to the ped today to get their ears checked. My youngest is 5 months old and got his first fever yesterday so I don't want to mess around. My 2 year also has ear infection like symptoms too. With him sometimes I can definitely tell when it's an ear infection and other times he has very little symptoms so it's so hard to tell when to go to the ped and when to take a wait and see approach. They go to daycare and all the kids are sick right now. I tend to take my kids to the doctor quickly because my husband and I both work full time and can't take off for days at a time. So if it is an ear infection I like to get them on meds so they can feel better and get back to daycare and we can go back to work.

Also my middle son had pneumonia and bronchiolitis last Sept that came on quick and he needed to be hospitalized for 3 days so I am always paranoid about that happening again.

So now that I have rambled on parenting is tough no matter how experienced you are. Sometimes it's just so hard to figure it out. Hang in there mama!

I would visit the doctor again. LO's ped is always extra concerned about fevers.

I hope your baby girl starts feeling better soon.

Since it has been almost a week with no improvements I would go back.

I would go back. You gave it a week and she is worse, not better. If she seemed to be on the mend, I would wait a few days.

My 7 month old has had a cold/cough for a couple weeks now. Her runny nose has come and gone a couple times, lasting for a day or so and not being too bothersome at all.

Her cough, on the other hand, has been rough. She's had a dry cough for two weeks now and it doesn't seem to be improving at all. She can go for long stretches during they day with no issues, but that changes at night and when nursing or taking bottles at daycare.

No fever until today (100.8 was the highest I got).

I took her to the doc last Wednesday because there have been some nasty colds/croup at daycare and to have her ears checked just in case. (My first had terrible ears.) The doctor said no croup and that it was likely just a cold that needed to run its course.

It's been another 5-6 days now and she seems to be feeling worse today now with the low fever and being extra fussy.

Would you wait it out a bit longer for it to runs its course or make another trip to the ped? Even as a second time mom, I still have to second guess when it's appropriate to see the doc!
