@Ajsmommy: I do the same thing also! It's so much more fun, and easier, to see what they say. I did the same thing when my son asked that question and his answer was not anything I would have thought up but it seemed to satisfy his question.

No specific help here but what I always do in these situations is turn it back on my DD....

I'd say "i don't know, what do you think?"

@pinkb: my mom used to make us out them in ziplock bags likely so it was easy for her to find and take. She told us it was to protect the tooth and make it easy for tooth fairy to carry it.

@SugarplumsMom: @mama bird: ah! I saw these ideas too late. I went with fairy dust. I wish I’d done a fairy secret. The reaction was: that’s weird. But really interesting. :silly:

Thanks for all your suggestions! Like @crazydoglady said, they’re all a little weird.

@pinkb: my kids won’t find their teeth later because they go directly into the bottom of the garbage 😂

I would say fairy secret and speculate with her but since no one has actually seen her we don’t know.

This is so funny my husband just asked me last night what we would stay when our son eventually asks what the Tooth Fairy does with the teeth. (Hes only 11 months so we have awhile). Crazy coincidence.

I think the Fairy Secret is a good idea. That way if she comes across any other explanations, you could explain it as no one really knows what they do but people can guess.

Um I cant be the only one that leaves the teeth under the pillow? I slide a couple dollars under and leave them, I don't want to chance waking the kids up. Plus I feel like they would find them later anyway.

I vote for a fairy secret. My daughter asked me this same question a little while back and I just told her IDK 😂 and no one really knows. Thankfully, she was too young to write an actual letter and ask herself!

I said I've no idea, it's probably a fairy secret lol. Then the kid read a Junie B. Jones story where she's trying to crack the same mystery all along (ends up deciding the fairy gives the teeth to babies, because her baby brother grows a new tooth just as hers falls out). And then happened on some book about how the tooth fairy is an oyster who collects teeth because they look like pearls. He liked both versions!

Anyhow, apparently the tooth fairy is not getting any of DS's teeth if he can help it. He got two front teeth pulled at the dentist because they would not come out, and the dentist put them in a box. Next thing I know, the box is under his pillow with a note asking the tooth fairy very nicely to give him a gift, but please let him keep the teeth

@poppygirl15: my daughter decided she takes them back to fairy land to build houses for the other fairies to live in! No idea where that came from but I loved it! Feel free to steal it...

I would personally probably say something about planting them in the soil to help flower gardens grow, or something like that. Haha.

Oy. My 7 year old lost a tooth tonight and decided to write the Tooth Fairy a note asking what she does with all the teeth. Have any of you answered this question? I googled it and find the idea of her giving them to babies creepy. Grinding them into fairy dust so she can fly isn't a bad one, but what answer have you given if asked?
